"Thank you for the meal, ma'am... Sir..." Y/n waved to them from the front door as the married couple does the same from the stairway from their home. The two adults does so back, one had a wide smile on her face while the other just shaking.
He smiles to them softly, he get out of the house with Komi following him all the way to her home's gate. They stopped there, she fidgets nervously as the boy pats her head softly.
"I know you want to walk me home but it's dangerous for you at this time of the day... I don't want anything to happen to you when you're walking back..."
Tug...
Komi pulls his arm to herself, a small blush appears on her cheeks as Y/n only chuckled at her cute actions. "It's going to be fine, Komi... I promise I'll be there for you at school tomorrow... If any case that doesn't happens, I'll call you..." he reassured her which made her grip around his arm ease.
He smiles a little more, the h/c brings her head to his chest for a hug and lands a small peck. "I'll be fine... I promise..." he said before slipping away from Komi's grip and left for home.
And it wouldn't be long before he was home.
"..."
Something felt off.
Once he entered the front door, something in his head doesn't feel right. He knows his father was home but why did that make Y/n tense?
Thud...
Something drops from upstairs.
Feeling a little cautious and curious, Y/n would think that someone was breaking into his house. And with the absence of his father, not acknowledging the situation at all, this made it a little more suspicious.
Taking off his shoes, he tiptoes up the stairs and to the hallway.
"..."
His door was open.
Something was definitely up.
Y/n takes a deep breath in as he approached the open room and places his hand on the ajar door. He pushes it open and...
"..."
"Is this kid on drugs or something?"
He finds his father looking through his desk, grabbing out a bottle of pills. Y/n stood there in near disbelief that his privacy was not safe in this house anymore.
"...What are you doing?" Y/n asked as his father whipped his head quickly. He had a frown on his face as he presented the orange bottle in his hands that Y/n recognized.
"What the hell is this?"
"Why are you snooping around in my room?"
"Because I own this house! Now tell me what these pills you have are for? Do you have a drug addiction?"
"They're for my depression..."
"Oh, so you're sad now..." the man said as Y/n had a face that said was filled with confusion.
"The doctor diagnosed me and told me to-"
"And you're gonna believe what he has to say?"
"...I mean he's a professional-"
"Shut the hell up! You're not depressed!" His father would shout at Y/n, wincing back at the sudden logic. "You look fine! And if you are, just be fucking happy! Then boom! No more of that depression shit! Fuck, kids like you are so sensitive these days..."
...That's not how curing depression works...
Y/n stood there in disbelief, the two guys stares at each other as the elder one shakes the bottle in his hands. "...I'm taking these..." he said before storming out of Y/n's room.
...I'm just gonna ask for a refill from the pharmacy... There's no point in fighting him and then getting hurt afterwards...
The boy was way smarter than he looked. He could find a way to avoid conflict and solve problems with no violence since that's what he taught him when he was younger.
All problems can be defused... It's just how you handle it is the real problem...
With one of the many lessons he was taught engraved in his head, he sealed himself in his room before walking to his desk and sat down.
He takes a framed photo from it, what was it of?
Only our protagonist knows as he sighs softly.
"...Soon..."
He puts the face of the photo down on the table as he slumped down on his chair and kicked his feet onto the desk.
"...Soon, I'll be out of here...I'll be eighteen and I don't have to live here anymore... I just need to be patient..." he said as he takes his phone out and decided to let his girlfriend know that he made it home safely.
...Just a little precaution for himself and Komi.
