I change into my dress for tonight, we finished recording and it was a success, to say the least. I'm glad I got to work with Tero, he's very talented and has great potential, I hope he sticks with making music because he is really talented.
Just when I get out of the bathroom, I see Y/n at the other end of the hallway, talking to Mark. She's wearing a wine-red suit, a black shirt underneath and I think I can also make out the outlines of a black tie. I'm approaching the two of them from behind so Y/n doesn't see me coming.
"Guess who?" I as, covering her eyes as I stand behind her. "Lemme guess, Uhm, maybe my girlfriend?" She brainstorms and I pull my hands away at the response. "Hey, darling." She greets me once I stand next to her and wrap my arm around her waist. "Hi, baby."
"You look stunning." She compliments and I feel my cheeks heating up. We say goodbye to Mark and then head out.
I hold onto Y/n's arm as we walk out of the studio. There are a few paparazzi outside but we don't really pay attention to them and continue to make our way to Y/n's car. "You were recording with Lil Nas X today?! Why didn't you tell me?!" She asks, freaking out a bit, once we are sitting in the car. Tero used the back exit so the paps wouldn't get pics of him since the public shouldn't know until later on.
"I kinda forgot..." I try to excuse my actions, "And no one was supposed to find out, guess I just kept it to myself."
"I'm just messing with you, sweetheart." She replies, smiling as she pulls out of the parking lot and onto the city's busy streets.
A few minutes later Y/n is parking the car at the restaurant and opening the car door for me to step out. "Thank you," I say as I hold onto her arm, kissing her cheek. She leads us to the door and holds it open as well. "I have a reservation for two on Y/l/n," Y/n says to the receptionist and he waves a waiter over to show us to our table.
The place is beautiful, it's a very aesthetic place, mostly dark and brown shades, here and there a dark green extra. Plants around every other corner create a cozy atmosphere. "This place is beautiful." I share once we are seated.
"It is." Y/n easily agrees, "Very cozy, feels quite homey." She adds. I order a glass of wine and Y/n a Negroni. "How was your day?" She asks me. "Good.", I share. We finished the song, which is quite an achievement for one day." I reply. "The tickets for the tour are gonna be selling in two weeks. It's really exciting." I share and she smiles at me in response. She seems a bit tense whenever the tour comes up.
"Baby, what's wrong?" I ask, taking her hands in mine, my thumbs gracing her knuckles. "Nothing, I-" She starts but is interrupted by the waiter placing our beverages on the table. We stay in silence until he leaves. "It's just that- that Jonah didn't find more than one competition for me in the cities you're playing. You're staying in every city for what, three days? Four? And as it turns out I have to fly over to Vancouver, while you're in DC, and officially sign into my parent's company." She explains, looking down while speaking.
"Okay, but you can still look for small sports clubs around the cities, even if they're an hour or two away from them, and when you are done in Vancouver, we can meet here in New York and spend two days at home together," I explain to her and a small smile starts forming on her lips. "Or maybe you ask one or two of the clubs to have their own competition, maybe you can sponsor them and help the teenagers and kids. As far as I know, if the clubs aren't that close to the cities, the kids rarely get the opportunity to participate in competitions." I brainstorm and she seems to relax a bit more.
"I'm sorry, I'm a bit of a mess today." She excuses herself. "No need to excuse yourself, baby. Your reasons are valid." I assure her and she takes a sip of her Negroni. "I just didn't think that I'd be signing in on the company so early, I mean I knew I eventually had to but it feels, I dunno, weird. It feels like it's a sign I won't be able to make my living with only sports. It kinda feels like a sign that I'm getting older." She says but can't help but chuckle at the last sentence and neither can I.
"If you're old, what am I? An ancient?" I joke and she laughs. "I sometimes forget that we're actually ten years apart. Wow, that's weird." She says to herself and I chuckle. "You do have a type," I comment and she laughs sweetly. "Hot, blonde women who are almost a decade older than you." I tease. "Well, at the moment my type appears to be hot, blonde, a-decade-older-than-me, you." She flirts back and I feel a blush rising on my cheeks.
"I know you can do this. I believe in you." I tell her and squeeze her hands. She smiles. "This reminds me of something my Mom did when my brother and I were little." She says, "She used to squeeze our hands twice, telling us 'I love you' and we'd squeeze back three times, saying 'I love you too'." She explains and I can't help but smile and squeeze her hands twice, she squeezes back three times, and a big smile forms on my face.
We stay at the restaurant until about ten and then Y/n drops me off at my apartment. "Thank you for tonight." I tell her as I open the door to the apartment, "I really enjoyed it."
"You're welcome, princess. I enjoyed it too." She replies. "I'll see you tomorrow," I say and wrap my arms around her neck, placing a kiss on her lips. "Sweet dreams, princess." - "Sweet dreams, handsome."
A/N I know this one's a bit shorter, I'm sorry. Hope you enjoyed it either way.
