SOULMATE

This morning, I woke up much earlier than usual and left Taehyung’s home after making sure that he was alive. To make the best use of having access to his key card, I moved some ingredients from my pantry to his kitchen, fully confident that he wouldn’t even notice what I had done.
Back at my home, I made myself a large cup of coffee and took a long shower before heading off to the library to stay in peace for some time and read something or probably write down notes for my book.
At about 10 am, I pick up my laptop and phone, and the sheets on which I scribbled the important points while listening to Taehyung the night before last, and I head straight to the library. Only the librarian is there at this time of the day, and I greet him as I walk over to a corner table to settle down and start working.
In about forty minutes, I’m done typing out all the handwritten points into a document, and I keep staring at the screen to figure out what to do with all this information.
The sex tape scandal, as Taehyung said, was done on purpose by one of the two suspected guys, and he also mentioned that the person apologized to him. It could have very well been a fake apology, but the important thing is that this scandal didn’t do as much damage as it was expected to do. Once again, those were Taehyung’s words.
So, the tape probably got leaked and went viral for a while, and after a few days or weeks, everyone just brushed it off and went about their lives, and his company, too, had protected him by promptly taking down the video from the internet as much as they could.
As always, his fandom must have been torn into two—one group claiming that the artist needs better privacy and fans shouldn’t bother about their private lives and stop telling the artist what to do and what not to do, and the other group shaming him for such an act and probably even turning into haters or outright exiting the fandom.
But Taehyung didn’t seem to be impacted too much by this incident, even though it is still a dishonorable thing, and there was a heavy undertone of guilt and shame when he opened up about it. Given that he was someone who didn’t shy away from admitting that he loved being called Korea’s playboy, in addition to the numerous other more honorable titles that he was bestowed with, this issue most definitely fizzled out quicker than anticipated.
Whoever planned to ruin his reputation by leaking this tape would have been disappointed and frustrated for sure. There is no way that I can meet Mel and get the details from her because she’s inaccessible and unreachable to a commoner like me. The scandal guy and Sammy are unreachable too.
How the hell do I proceed?
I rest my forehead over my folded hands that are on top of the table and close my eyes in contemplation, but it only lasts about ten seconds, and then my phone starts vibrating with an incoming call.
