The crowd was electrifyingly intense. The whole stadium was lit up with thrilling screeches of support, for whom, I could not even decipher. All I know is that they are itching to witness a killer goal. While I am not here to cheer either side, I could not help but feel the electricity in the air and within myself watching the two teams play. It is odd to think that just by watching these boys play, adrenaline is rushing through me anxious and eager to know how it is going to play out. I could only imagine what it actually is like taking part - I almost want to puke out of nervousness thinking about it. But being a neutral bystander is not my goal today.
I am to decide if there are any worthy strikers for Project Blue Lock.
"This is not my job," I muttered to myself striking out player after player on the team lists. While I have a comprehensive and detailed guidelines as to how to locate a budding world-class striker, I cannot help but feel immensely underqualified to do this. I am practically deciding whether I want to grant these boys a chance to chase their dreams or let their legacy as footballers die in high school. But at the same time, it is a riveting feeling to know I have the power to send in who I wish to Blue Lock. I could only imagine the chaos that could ensue depending on the type of player I potentially choose. Or I choose none, and nobody today will have to endure the soon-to-be make-it-or-break-it tribulations that they will face in Blue Lock. There were only two spots left for Blue Lock and Jinpachi really had to give me the burden of finding two fills for him - especially when there are two days left until Blue Lock officially begins. I roll my eyes, 'What a handful he is.'
With the score as 1-0 to Matsukaze Kokuou, I huff out my pent-up inner thoughts and focus back on the game. I have deduced the players down to two: Isagi Youichi from Ichinan and Kira Ryosuke from Matsukaze Kokuou.
"Isagi seems to be in the zone in a tense situation like this, that's good," I muse, watching him dribble through the players and close in towards the goal. He stares intently at the goalie - both of them acknowledging this one-on-one play.
