I had awoken to a knocking on my door and realised there were many more people that had injuries needing tending to. I spent the rest of that day getting to know the players coming in and out of my make-shift clinic. Igaguri was the first to visit me and he had quite a lot going on, from a nearly sprained foot to a bloody face, this guy did not catch a break that day. I enjoyed his humourous disposition, he knew how to keep things light and fun.
Throughout the evening players from each team drifted in and out, most of them needing an ice pack. Thankfully no one was seriously injured. I took this as an opportunity to get to know the general mindset of players here by noting down some issues and gripes they have with the facility so far. One, in particular, is they already feel more mentally fatigued not knowing the true day-night cycle as there are no windows here. That, I could agree on.
I made a mental note to brainstorm a few ways to alleviate the stress of the lack of sunlight.
During the night I did research on the players, ensuring I at least memorise all of Team Z's members before learning the rest of the players in the building. There were two names on Team's V list that caused me to audibly gasp. I know those players.
The next day was relatively quiet for the boys but rather hectic for me. I had been tasked with ensuring the gym equipment was functional and ready for the fitness tests taking place the following day. Jinpachi had me running all over the building to prep hydration stations, ensure correct stocks of towels sufficed, and worst of all I held the responsibility of the laundry of Building 5. A hefty task for sure. I prepared personal player sheets for myself to evaluate some of the boys too. Without understanding their limits, strengths, and capabilities, it would be much more difficult for me to aid them when they ask for my support and assistance in improving their performance.
I also didn't want to become an unapproachable figure so I decided to head to Team Z's room personally and give them a heads-up that I would be on the floor. Which brings me to their front door.
The doors automatically open for all the players as their attire has the in-built ranking tech, which triples as their keycard and meal luxury token. I personally carry an ID badge which I hold up against the door to announce my entrance, allowing everyone time to ensure they are decent and not half-naked like what happened on day one. An improvement I am glad Jinpachi coded in.
The metal hatches hiss open and I step inside. Futons are being laid on the floor and everyone is either talking in pairs cross-legged on the floor or busy setting up for lights out.
"Hey everyone!" I beam, gathering their attention. Most of them greet me appropriately. However, Gagamaru and Raichi have their own way of saying 'hello.'
"Ms. Nice Ego."
"Mini Ego? We don't need to be tucked in bed like a fucking baby."
I narrow my eyes, folding my arms, "I told you boys [y/n] is fine and Raichi you curse way too much."
