The next morning, Louis wakes up with messy hair and a dry mouth from last night's beer. His thoughts immediately wander to Harry and his stomach begins to tingle. He can't wait to see him hopefully again tomorrow. Under normal circumstances, Louis would be nervous before his first day at a new school, especially a senior year when friendships and groups have been made for years. But Louis is just happy to have the chance to exchange a few more words with Harry.

He gets up with a grin, takes a shower, brushes his teeth and goes down the stairs, already hearing Jay busy in the kitchen. Beaming, he collapses onto a chair in the kitchen.

"Good morning Mom."

Jay, who is standing at the sink washing the dishes, turns to him and asks

"Good morning Boo, why are you in such a good mood? Tell me about last night."

She goes back to her work and Louis gets up to make himself some tea.

"I met someone yesterday. Mum...I know it sounds childish, but...I know it's him!" Louis explains, breathing the ‚him'.

Jay stills and turns to Louis with a questioning look.

"Who is ‚him'?"

She sees her son blush, but he immediately begins to talk with wild hand movements and bright blue eyes.

"He is my great love. I saw him and I went whooooosh. Mom, don't look at me like that. I really felt it!" Louis tries to put his feelings into words and to convince his mother.

"Boo... you just met that boy last night and you're still so you-"

But Louis doesn't let her finish, desperate because she doesn't seem to understand how much Harry swept him off his feet just that night.

"Mum, you don't understand... I saw him and it was like in a movie. My heart started beating faster and he looked at me...and I looked at him and we talked. And he spilled beer all over me, you can't imagine how cute he looked after that!" Louis says, an octave up and breathless, rambling to his mother.

Jay chuckles at her son's story and shakes her head in amusement.

"Okay, okay... I see. It hit you hard."

"Yessssssssss," Louis breathes and the whole yesterday evening plays itself out again in his head.

"How old is he anyway and is he from Manchester too?" Jay asks and Louis can feel that his mother is trying to take his feelings seriously.

"He's 16 and lives just down the street. His name is Harry Styles and...Mum, I know it sounds crazy, but eventually he'll end up with my last name."

Jay laughs out loud and ruffles Louis hair as she says

"Maybe you should get to know him better first and find out if he's interested in the same sex at all before you think about marriage. I don't want to belittle your joy and infatuation, but what if you end up walking out heartbroken?"

Louis frowns and doesn't even consider that possibility.

"But you preached weeks ago that I should approach new acquaintances with young people with an open mind despite the incidents!"

"And you really should! But don't get too caught up in it right away," Jay frowns with concern to add quietly "You know what happened last time."

"I know...thanks for the reminder," Louis says bitterly, turning his back on his mother. Jay grabs his shoulder and pulls him into a tight hug.

"Hey...I just want you not to get hurt again and not have the same experience as in Donny." Louis sighs into his mother's hug and secretly has to agree with her.
