Kaira quickly took her seat in her physics class at school. She had just put down her notebooks when her pen rolled off the desk, she hastily knelt down to pick it up from the floor before another student could kick it further. Her eyes glanced over as a pair of white keds walked across the floors, a major difference from the usual black shoes that the students had to wear as part of their uniform. Kaira would have just brushed it off, fully aware that they had a sub, but the hairs on her hand jolted upright as though an electrical current had filled the room. Her eyes widened as she quickly peeked over the desk at the man that stood at the front.
To any other student he looked like a man in a long sleeve striped dress shirt, purple tie, and tortoise shell glasses. But Kaira knew differently, and the moment his eyes met hers, she knew he knew as well.
Kaira knew there was no use in excusing herself as though she were in the wrong classroom, her name was on the roster. She let out a shaky breath as she took her seat once more, feeling the Doctor's gaze follow her every move until the bell rang.
The Doctor snapped his gaze forward to the other students "Good morning, class. Are we sitting comfortably?" he turned back to the whiteboard "So. Physics," The Doctor wrote the word onto the whiteboard and turned back towards the class. "Physics. Eh? Physics. Phyyyyyyyysics. Physics! Physics. Physics, physics, physics, physics, physics, physics, physics,"
Kaira huffed and leaned back in her chair, this was going to be a long day.
"I hope one of you is getting all this down. Okay, let's see what you know. Two identical strips of nylon are charged with static electricity and hung from a string so they can swing freely. What would happen if they were brought near each other?"
Milo raised his hand.
"Yes, what's your name?"
"Milo," The boy answered.
"Milo. Off you go,"
"They'd repel each other because they have the same charge,"
"Correctamundo. A word I have never used before and hopefully never will again. Question two. I coil up a thin nichrome wire and place it in a glass of water. Then I turn on the electricity and measure to see if the water temperature is affected. My question is this. How do I measure the electrical power going into the coil?"
Milo raised his hand again.
"Someone else," The Doctor glanced over at Kaira, but she remained unmoved "No? Okay. Milo, go for it,"
"Measure the current and PD using an ammeter and voltmeter,"
"Two to Milo! Right, tell me this. True or false, the greater the dampening on a system, the quicker it loses energy to its surroundings,"
"False,"
"What is non-coding DNA?"
"DNA that doesn't code for a protein,"
"65,983 times 5," The Doctor eyed Kaira.
Kaira bit her tongue from shouting out the answer, he was testing her...seeing if she truly was who she was.
"329,915," Milo replied.
"How do you travel faster than light?" The Doctor wondered.
Kaira snorted only to quickly cover it with a cough.
"By harnessing a quantum tunnel with an FTL factor of 36.7 recurring," Milo answered.

"Mind if I sit down?" The Doctor asked as he walked over to Kaira's table with a food tray.
Kaira messed around with the food on her tray, remaining silent.
"The chips seem weird,"
Kaira still didn't respond.
"Kaira..." The Doctor's hand touched Kaira's "talk to me,"
"Two days," A blonde woman said as she walked over and began to wipe down the table.
"Sorry, could you just..." The Doctor pointed to the stop on the table "There's a bit of gravy,"
The woman began wiping at the spot.
"No, no, just there,"
"Two days we've been here," The blonde huffed.
"Blame your boyfriend. He's the one who put us on this. He was right. Boy in class this morning got knowledge way beyond planet Earth,"
"You eating those chips?"
"Yeah, they're a bit...different." The Doctor looked at Kaira "Don't you think?"
Kaira merely glared over at the man as she moved the food around on her tray.
The blonde reached over the Doctor's tray and picked up a chip and bit into it "I think they're gorgeous. Wish I had school dinners like this,"
"It's very well behaved, this place. I thought they'd all be happy-slapping hoodies. "Happy-slapping hoodies with ASBOs. Happy-slapping hoodies with ASBOs and ringtones. Eh?" The Doctor smiled at the two women at his table "Don't tell me I don't fit in,"
Kaira cowered when one of the lunch ladies came over to the table.
"You are not permitted to leave your station during a sitting," The lunch lady told the blonde.
"I was just talking to this teacher," The blonde reasoned.
"Hello," The Doctor smiled.
"He doesn't like the chips,"
"The menu has been specifically designed by the headmaster to improve concentration and performance. Now get back to work,"
The blonde huffed with distaste "See? This is me. Dinner lady,"
"I'll have the crumble," The Doctor called out.
"I'm so gonna kill you,"
Kaira looked up only to quickly cower again as another teacher walked into the cafeteria and over to one of the student tables.
"Melissa." The teacher told a student "You'll be joining my class for the next period. Milo's failed me so it's time we moved you up to the top class," he looked over at one of the male students "Kenny, not eating the chips?"
"I'm not allowed," Kenny said.
"Luke, extra class. Now!"
The Doctor raised an eyebrow and glanced over at Kaira "What's going on at this school, Kaira?"
Kaira stood up from the table and glanced up at the second story where the headmaster stood. "He watches you," she told the Doctor as she walked away dumping her tray.
