I walked into "Knutzz & Boltzz," my usual hangout spot. Knutzz & Boltzz" is a club just a few 20km away from the good part of town. I drove a stolen rundown truck so it didn't take much time for me to get there after school, specially if there was no traffic.
I had stolen the truck 3 years ago when I'd cut all ties to my past. I made sure to steal it from a small time criminal so there was no way the truck would be reported missing or anything.
I sat at the bar and odered a Jack Daniels, my usual drink. The bartender placed it on the counter in front of me, nodding once.
I liked the bartender, she never once spoke a word to me in all the 3 years I'd been coming here, and I didn't want that to change. I hated unnecessary chattering. People who kept talking despite knowing that the other person couldn't care less pissed me off, kinda like Arlene.
After I was done with my drink, I just sat there, thinking about Mason.
His appearance was not really helping the whole cutting ties with my past thing. I mean, he was part of it. My past.
I odered another drink and chugged it down, wallowing in self pity.
"Katelyn?" A voice spoke from beside me.
I turned, finding myself facing a fimilyer, short, blue headed guy.
I couldn't quite place him.
"And you are?" I voiced my confusion, with my stright, normal face.
"Jordan. From school? I'm in the street fighting club. With Mason."
My memory clicked, and I had a feeling I wouldn't forget his name or face anymore.
"Why are you here?" I asked.
"I'm lost." He answered, pressing his lips into a slight frown. "What are you doing here?" He directed the same question towards me.
"Never mind that. Where do you live?" I wanted to get rid of him.
"The apartment complex right next to school."
How did he get all the way here? Well, none of my business.
"You have a car? I can give you directions on how to get back."
"My brother has one. I'm here with him."
I sighed tiredly. I could leave him alone but my protective nature wouldn't let me do that.
"Well then, let's look for your brother."
"No need. There he is." Jordan pointed to a crowd of people with piercings. A guy with jet black hair, wearing fashionably torn jeans and no shirt noticed Jordan pointing at him and waved in our direction.
"That's your brother? He's much taller than you." I said matter-of-factly.
"I get it. I'm short for a guy. I have a hight complex without you pointing it out to me." He replied, sounding irritated.
I couldn't help but smile at that. Jordan's eyes widened in shock and supprise.
"What?" I yawned out.
"That's the first time I've seen you smile. It looks good."
I struggled to hide my expressions, successfully.
He smirked and walked to his brother.
I turned to the counter and ordered another Jack Daniels.
"Looks like my brother's gonna be a while. Do you have a car?"
I nodded. Not liking where the conversation was heading.
"Great." He smirked. "Drop me."
I could have said no but that would mean spending twice the time with him at the club, since it didn't look like his brother was gonna tone down the fun anytime soon.
I agreed then suddenly remembered. "I'm sorry, I won't drink and drive."
"Oh yeah, how come you were drinking. You are underage right? And what's with you having a car? Do you even have a license?"
I yawned. No. It's an illegal car genious, is what I wanted to say. But I settled for, "It's none of your business."
I pulled out my phone and fished out Mason's contact. I texted.
Jordan at Knutzz & Boltzz. Com get him.
Katelyn.
He eyed me suspiciously, but didn't press on it.
We were walking on the pavement when a group of thugs started picking a fight with us.
"Hey chick!"
"Wanna hang out with the big boys?"
"Ditch the looser."
I sighed. They obviously weren't from around here. Everyone in this area knew not to pick a fight with me.
The men stank of tobacco, putting me off.
I counted. There were 8 of them. This would be a breeze. But I didn't wanna fight them if possible.
"Get behind me." Jordan commanded, standing in front of me protectively.
I smirked. "I guess I could let him take care of it."
He lunged forward and threw a punch at the ring leader, hardly enough to make him stumble. He followed it up with an upper cut kick.
The guy fell to the floor. His jaw a bloody mess.
I smirked. The kick was good, but he needed to learn how to use his fists.
The men ran at him in rage as the leader stood up. I sighed, knowing I had to step in. Leaving it to Jordan would mean having to get rid of his dead body.
I got in front of him.
"What are you.......
"You stay behind me." I hissed.
I elbowed a guy in the neck twice and he instantly fainted, at the same time I kicked another guy hard in his gut, right at his solar plexus. He fell on his knees, withering in pain. I hit the third guy right below his chest, he tried punching me but I dodged, hitting him below his chest again and tripping him with my leg. I punched the leader on his jaw, much harder than Jordan had and he fell to the ground, his teeth flying out of his mouth. A guy went past me while I was taking care of tow others.
"Stop or I'll.....
Out of the corner of my eye I saw him holding Jordan as a hostage, intending to scare me.
But it did nothing more than fire me up, I charged at him but Jordan got himself out of the guys choke hold, punching him in the face and following it up with a kick. I turned to the last guy but he was nowhere to be seen.
