As I lay back on my cream couch and set my steaming cup of peppermint on the table soon to be forgotten as you journey into another world I open my book the one I have been nonstop reading to get away from the troubles of this fear of the unknown.

 I run my finger up the spine of the well-used book, one of my favorites, the new book smell is replaced with an even more satisfying old smell. The paper started to slightly wear as every time I would read the most existing parts my fingers would grip the paper harder in anticipation. As I began to read the words on the paper started to blur into this picture from another world.

 To anyone else walking by and snooping to see what she was reading it would just look like words on a paper like any other book but to her, it was her favorite memories with her friends learning the secrets of kings and the squabbles of men.

The picture soon began to open up to a tavern as a reunion was happening of friends coming back after an extremely long mission trip that paid so handsomely that it could keep them sustained for months. The laughter and happiness were so grand that the onlookers started to wonder what a great event was to cause such pure joy.

"You should have seen the looks on the people's faces when we came back alive when they thought we were dead." one laughed out. "yeah! and once we gave them the herbs they wanted they could barely believe they were handing out the reward!" another shouted "Can we get another round of drinks over ...

I snapped the book closed as I jolted up. "I've called you five times already and you didn't answer me, you have no time to be slouching around reading you have homework and projects to do." Mother said, "Of course mother I'll get that done in a second." I replied as I look down at the almost-finished book I sigh and run my fingers over the pages and get up to finish my work.
