What's For Dinner? || 01

(Sorry it took me so long to update :/ and did I already mention that this story won't have long chapters, but it will be a long book :).)

"Calum!" I giggled as I tried desperately to catch up with him. "You win, okay?"

He slowed down, sending both of us into fits of giggles. "Of course I win." He messed up my hair and then threw an arm around my shoulder.

"Are you coming to my house today?" I asked, leaning my head on his shoulder. "You made me tired, retard."

"Yeah probably. The bus is usually late on Mondays."

It was okay for him to come to my house. We're best friends. We do everything together. He usually comes to my house anyway.

We walked up the steps and came in quickly.

My house was not big, but it wasn't small. It was made of brick and had cute shutters. My mom, dad, brother, and sister all lived here. Personally, I like my house. Unlike the rest of my family, I made friends with all of the neighbors instead of avoiding them.

"Wanna play footie?" Calum asked, absentmindedly grabbing the ball.

"I don't know... We have homework!" I sighed. "But look at the pretty flowers."

"That's why we should go outside. To smell the flowers."

I shook my head, looking for my homework.

We were finally outside. I twirled on the neatly cut grass and threw my hands out.

"Calum, remember when we're little and we did this?" I giggled as the colors mixed.

"Yeah," Calum said from the ground. "it makes me dizzy. I don't like it."

I finally fell, but I came up with a smile on my face. "That was fun!"

"Hey, you just fell on your face." Calum scoffed, laying down again.

"I know that, Calum."

I pulled out my phone and texted my mom.

'what's for dinner mom?'

I rolled over to Calum and laid my head on Calum's stomach.

'Get up, walk through the door, and look silly.' My mom texted back.

I groaned and stuck my phone back in my pocket.
