Arts/Crafts & Cars(Dabi x Kyubey)

Book One:

"Mina..why are we doing this? And where exactly do you plan on taking me? I don't like it when you, of all people, tell me to wear sneakers to run." Kyubey sighed as she finally stepped out of the bathroom in the outfit her best friend, Mina, picked out for her.

"I told you it's a surprise, besides.. it'll be fun and maybe you can make some friends." Mina smiled turning to look at Kyubey.

"This feels strange though... you're dragging me out late at night. To meet people I don't know. And you keep dropping hints that there's going to be cute guys there." Kyubey huffed as she began to pull her shoulder length black hair into a ponytail, leaving her bangs out.

"You'll see. Trust me, it'll be fun." grinned the outgoing woman as the two left the bathroom, Mina humming and bouncing around excitedly. Kyubey sighed and gave a tiny smile. She did admit, she was feeling down lately. Maybe wherever they were going wouldn't be too bad. After the last finishing touches Kyubey and Mina head off, Mina was the one who was driving that night since Kyubey had no idea where they were heading to.

Kyubey trusts Mina...but tonight, she questioned her only a bit.

After awhile of driving the girls finally arrived at their destination. Kyubey's heart stuck in her throat when she realized what was happening. Mina had dragged her to a street racing competition. She watched the two cars that were stationary next to each other, their engines running. The cars were sleek and very much worked on, trying to prove they owned the faster car. Suddenly a thin and tall woman walked up, her long brown hair was pulled up into a high ponytail.

She raised her arms, holding two checkered flags in her hands. Then suddenly with one quick movement she threw her arms down and the two cars took off. Their tires screeching against the pavement leaving dark tire marks. "Alright girlfriend. Let's get your sexy ass out there." Mina spoke breaking Kyubey's train of thought and bringing her down to earth.

"A street race? You dragged me to a street race?" Kyubey whined. "Yes, but I know most of these people. Besides, you have to wait till the end to meet the two hottest racers. My god they are so..hmmmmm." Mina said almost drooling over the thought of the unknown men. "Ew, keep the dirty thoughts away from me." Kyubey giggled stepping out of the car. "You'll know what I mean when you see them." Mina sang happily as she got out of the car as well.

There was a good crowd of people here watching the races. Each race was a simple one, straight down the road. The first to cross the line won. There was a whole system to it as well. One person sat at the finish line and would radio in with the young woman with the long brown hair. Informing her on who passed the line first. It was such a serious thing that people were putting money on it. So much money Kyubey wasn't used to seeing anymore.

"Heeeyyy, Mina! You finally made it? Who you bettin' on tonight?" A tall young man who looked to have some Spanish decent mixed in. His shoulder length black hair was tied back into a small ponytail. "You know exactly who I'm betting on. If I didn't I would be a fool." Mina giggled as she pulled her wallet out of her backpack purse. She pulled out a couple hundred dollars and put it in the hat the young man was carrying around.

He looked toward Kyubey and raised a brow as his eyes roamed over her, the latter blushing and clearing her throat awkwardly. "Um, I'm not betting." she mumbled and he smiled. "That's alright. I hope you enjoy the show. I'm Sero by the way." he grinned, winking and she smiled back as he turned to approach the others that were standing nearby.

"Look at you getting attention already." teased Mina, prodding Kyubey gently with her elbow. "Mina. What's this about betting?" she sighed, glancing around, noticing that the women were getting particularly excited all of a sudden. "You can bet on who you think will win tonight. And tonight, like always, Viper and the Golden Kid are racing. I know them though. And everyone is excited. Their races are always exciting. They'll race right after the two that just went up." explained Mina and Kyubey frowned.
