Lunch's in this family were always very risky business, it either went pleasantly well or disastrously wrong - normally thanks to Alicent and and Aemond. Currently, it was completely silent, just knives and dos scratching against the metal plates as they scraped together food. Vasarez looked around, looking to her brothers, then father, then mother, noticing the unease on all of their faces.
"So, Vasarez, I've heard your father is training you up to be a knight like him, hm?" Viserys said, smiling. Although he technically wasn't supposed to have favourites, his first and only female grandchild always made him proud, whether it was for something small or not he was never displeased with her. She had grown to be like her mother, taking daring and rather challenging trates from both her alleged and pseudo fathers - no one really minded that if they were honest, it was entertaining to them.
"Yeah, we were out practicing before, he challenged me to a duel and I most definitely won!" She said, smiling to herself with a sense of pride.
Her father, Laenor, smiled, "she did indeed, knocked me down when I wasn't fully concentrating,"
Aegon snorted into his goblet, sniggering to himself.
"Something the matter, uncle?" Vasarez said, mood shifting within an instant."No- no, just, your 'father'," he accentuated the father in the sentence, looking between the two, "got beat by you in a duel? I mean your a woman for gods sakes!"
"Aegon, watch your tone," Viserys said, a stern look washing over him. Aegon shut up within seconds, he wasn't about to disobey the king now was he?
Rhaenyra shifted her hand, holding onto her daughters small palm who sat just next to her as a form of well done for not trying to battle her uncle from across the table. The rest of the meal went fairly well, a few blows made from each of the children to the other children, mainly discussing how Jace would be getting his dragon tomorrow. Vasarez had gotten her dragon, Soul Catcher, the year before. He was one of Syrax's eggs and picked for her when she was born with help from Daemon. He was largely black with small details of red and menacing ember eyes, warning his name purely through the fact he ended up burning several people alive during his first few days of teen hood. However, he was still a very loyal and playful dragon with Vasarez and the two had somehow created a very strong bond (probably due to the hours every few days Vasarez spent with her dragon).
"My king, I believe Aemond is also in need of a dragon? He is of age," Alicent said, looking to her husband as she knew it would make her son happy.
"Or maybe he'd better suit a pig," Aegon chirped in, earning a laugh from Vasarez's brothers. She looked at her mother, and squeezed her still held hand, Rhaenyra knew it could get loud in a minute and various things from the tables could be thrown within a few seconds. Plus, her daughter had noticed, and that was a sign to pack it in for the night.
"I believe my children and I should head to our chambers, we've all had a very long day," she smiled, looking at her father from across the table, "plus the kids are desperate to spend time with their brother Joffrey,"
Viserys smiled and nodded, "have a nice evening my dear," Rhaenyra nodded and her family stood, leaving the room. The second the door was closed behind them various yelling was heard, Vasarez moved to stand next to her brothers and squeezed their hands to support them before leading them to their youngest brothers room.
"What colour hair do you think he'll have mother?" Luke said, oblivious to what that statement really meant.
"I don't know, sweet boy, maybe he'll look like you," she smiled, Harwin smiled slightly as he continued his conversation with Laenor about training ghe three eldest kids - he was more than happy to do so.
