Michael
"SOLANA!" A short haired woman yells while rushing through the door.
Solana sits up quickly and just in enough time as her mother, I'm assuming, tramples her back onto the bed. Her sobs are filling the room and it's a heartfelt moment. Everyone's quiet and respective as she has her moment reuniting with her only child. She pulls back and smooths Solana's hair off her face.
"Oh baby, it's so good to see your face again!" She whispers and Solana giggles, then I stiffen as her mother looks over her head and at me.
"Oh... hello." She trails off and I sit up, only wincing slightly, but Solana turns around and push me back gently.
"Mom... dad. This is Michael, he was also kidnapped and he's my new boyfriend. We been dating for six months now." She says and her parents look confused.
"What about Danny?" Her mother asks and Solana shakes her head.
"Didn't the media tell you guys? He's the one who kidnapped me. Michael found out and Danny took him too. He was gonna kill me last night." She whispers and her parents look shocked. I clear my throat.
"Hello, it's nice to meet you both." I smile shyly and they look at me, then smiles form on their faces.
"It's nice to meet the young man who saved our daughter's life." Her dad says in a deep authoritative voice and I feel my face heating up.
After a few more minutes of talking to one another, I start getting tired and I look around to see my mother talking with Solana's parents and Jordan and Skyler talking with my father as he's writing a check for them. I wave towards them, knowing this is the last time I'll see them as they walk out, then not too long after, a doctor walks in.
"Hello everyone. I know this has been a miraculous few days and that we all want to take our loved ones home, so let me get in a check the two." The doctor says.
Solana sits up first and he thoroughly checks her up, explaining to her that she needs to eat more, sleep more and go to a doctor for another check up back home, within two weeks, then he checks me and frown.
"How long ago were you shot?" He asks, checking my wounds and I wince as he pokes around.
"A few weeks ago, almost a month." I breathe and he nods, then tuts in disapproval.
"You're not fully recovered and you've reopened these wounds. I'm going to need to keep you here." He says and I nod, then look over at Solana as she frowns.
"That's my fault I thought you were Danny and I elbowed you hard. I'm sorry, baby." She whimpers and I grab her hand, giving her the 'stop' look.
"So, when will be be able to drive him back home?" My father asks and the doctor sighs deeply.
"I really don't think he's well enough to be moved, but we can keep him here overnight, treat him the rest of today and tomorrow, then you can take him tomorrow night, but he needs to be submitted again in your hometown. He's very unwell to be out of the hospital right now and needs to be back on antibiotics." He explains and I raise my brows in shock.
I had no clue I was still this bad, then again, I was shot twice and had surgery to remove the bullets.
My parents agree to rent a hotel across the street for two days, while Solana's parents are signing her out to take her back home. She turns around and looks at me with panic filled brown eyes.
"Michael, I can't do it. It's too long and too far. I'm scared." She whispers so only I can hear and I kiss the hand I'm holding.
"You'll be fine. I'll be two days behind you." I assure her, but she still looks unconvincing.
