"How have you been?", you asked Price in a calm minute as the rest of the group started to get busy assembling everything necessary for the meeting. "Does life treat you better these days?"

A huff escaped his bearded lips.

With a cheeky smirk and a proud shimmer in his bright blue eyes, he raised his right hand to show you a shiny silver wedding band shimmering on his ring finger.

Struck by surprise, your eyebrow rose.

"Holy shit.", you chuckled. "When did that happen?"

His eyes fell onto the ring.

"A few weeks back. Nothing fancy, just got married on paper."

"Holy hell, captain, you could have invited me."

He lowered his hand again to hide it in a glove. It seemed like he hadn't told the others yet.

"We didn't celebrate yet.", he admitted, but sounded excited about the possibility. "It's still in planning."

You crossed your arms in front of your chest, chin raised.

"I'm surprised, to be honest.", you eyed him, how human and happy he looked all of a sudden. "I didn't even know there was someone."

"Well...", he shrugged. "We met, had a nice stay in Hamburg. Elevator incident after a night out. And almost a near death experience. And three years later here we are. Married."

"Sounds romantic..."

He couldn't help but chuckle slightly.

"My midge isn't one for romance. Has a huge mouth, though."

You frowned.

"Midge?", you asked. "That's a weird ass nickname."

Agreeing, he nodded.

"Yeah, well, it's just right. My midge."

As he talked about his better half, you couldn't help but smile at how satisfied he seemed.

He truly was proud to be someone's husband now. And that special someone must have been just the perfect match for him even though he sounded annoyed by recalling the origins of their love story.

"Congratulations, John!", you gave him a bump to the shoulder. "I'm happy for you."

Thankfully, he nodded his head.

His eyes locked with yours.

"So?", he asked and returned the affectionate bump, but placed it on your chest instead. "Word has it you did great jobs over the past years. Lieutenant?"

A snort escaped you.

Embarrassed, you turned your gaze towards the table to watch the team be all lively.

"Yeah...", you had to take a deep breath. "Work's... exhausting but very rewarding. Never felt so good yet so bad before. I think I need a break after this though."

Understanding, he hummed.

"We'll all need one.", Price said. "But thanks to you, it will be a quick trip."

Your eyes returned to him, sparkling with interest.

"How come?", you asked.

With a gesture of his head, he indicated that it wasn't the right time to talk about this in private and gave you a gentle push to make you join the rest of the team again.

Two more men joined the table, which made the group complete.

It was easy to tell that they were Hispanic.

"More new faces.", you greeted them with a smile and a hand offered in greeting. "The name's 100."

The first man, clean shaved with well kept black hair and an angular jawline, took the offer and gave it a form shake.

"Rodolfo.", he introduced himself with a Spanish accent. "Rudi is fine."

Your eyes fell onto the man behind him.

He looked a bit rougher than his partner, had dark hair as well, but with longer strands at the top and a slight beard shadow covering the lower part of his face.

His eyes had a nice dark, brown to them, with a sharp expression that was less friendly than the one Rodolfo's had.

"Alejandro.", he said with a nod of his head. "Nice to meet you..?"

"Lieutenant MacTavish.", you answered the question he hadn't asked. "But I prefer 100."

"MacTavish? Related to Soap?", Rodolfo asked with one eyebrow raised.

Proudly, Soap smiled and got ready to claim all the fame.

"Unfortunately.", you said with a smile on your lips. "He's my older brother."

"From another dad.", he corrected.

"Because that's the important part.", you rolled your eyes and turned your to Price. "Is the team complete, captain? Or do you have more surprises up your sleeve?"

Crunching his nose, the captain shook his head and grabbed the edge of his bulletproof vest to pull it down to give himself some air.

As he took position at the head of the table, he started to balance on his heels, gently rocking back and forth.

"The only surprise I had up my sleeve was you, 100.", he said and gifted you his cheeky grin.

Soap let a snort be heard.

"Kinda weak for you, captain.", he joked.

You jammed your elbow into his ribs.

With a yelp, he bend over to catch his breath and hide the tears that started to fill the corners of his eyes.

"You're still such a cunt!", he gasped.

You rolled your eyes and placed a slap on the back of his head.

"Stop whining.", you huffed. "You've always been such a pussy."

He shook you off, offended, but also trying to play it cool. Soap had always hated it to let others see that sometimes he lost against his younger sibling.

It hurt his pride.

But even though you liked to tease him you didn't try to make him look bad. Sometimes it was just important to humble him.

"Could you two cut it out?", Price asked, slightly annoyed already.

There were plenty of reasons why you and your brother were rarely put in the same team.

Price knew every single one of them and still had decided to roll with his decision.

That meant shit was really about to go down.

Luckily, the other members of the group weren't as stiff as they seemed to be.

A smirk managed to find its way to Alejandro's face while Rudi had to chuckle.

Gaz grinned and even Laswell looked at the two of you like a mother at her children.

Not that you knew how that looked like.

Only Price kept himself reserved.

He and the strange giant with the skull mask.

"Ghost...", you mumbled to yourself.

His head flinched and a moment later his eyes moved to fall onto you.
