Chapter 7: Project
“Class, I will be swapping your seats and you will be placed into groups of three. You will be working together for the upcoming projects and these projects will amount to 30% of your end of year grade."
he said, while pointing at the class bulletin board
A crowd of students approached the bulletin board to see the new seating arrangement. My eyes glanced through the sea of names nervously… looking to find my name.
Upon finding my name, my face turned pale…
I left the crowd and began to process what I had seen.
I was grouped with Alice and Jacob.
Oh… this is fine, this is fine, this is fine, this is fine, THIS IS NOT FINE. I have to work with Jacob on this project??? I can’t even stand looking at his face! There is no way I can do this project with him! Should I tell the teacher to change groups..? I can’t do that!
“Hey idio-'' Suddenly, Alice pulled Jacob’s ear and my hand and dragged us to the side. She explained to us that she did not intend to fail the upcoming projects and expected both of us to cooperate. But Jacob rolled his eyes and forcefully slapped her hand away from his face. We watched in shock as he stormed out of the classroom.
“Jacob, where are you going???” he sternly questioned.
He said nothing and sprinted out.
