I regret, 

without knowing what was the truth, 

believed what they said.

Assumed a sheep to be a fox 

and a fox to be a king, 

unknowingly walked on a path they always lead.

It was a grievous mistake 

to be all ears with eyes closed. 

To trust someone like them 

not my foes, to be supposed.

As I look back in time, 

I could clearly see the red flags. 

It was my utter foolishness! 

To expect kindness in a world that lagged.
