The tour (chapter 3)

He looks towards Newt,
"She's your greenie for the month so be nice and give her the tour"he seemed very sweet but got more serious towards the end of his sentence.

"Ok alby" newt said rolling his eyes
"Gally said he needed to talk to me so I'll see you later newt, greenie"
ably walked away.

I turned to newt "why does everyone call me greenie?" I said
"It's what we call new people that come up in the box because normally they don't remember their name" he said

"Oh ok but that's not my name" I said looking into his ocean blue eyes
"wait you remember your name? Normally it takes like a day" newt said very slowly
"Yeah it's y/n?" I added, I wasn't sure if it was but that's the name I kept hearing so I think it is. "ok then I'll call you y/n from now on" he said.

He started walking away from me but I was lost in thought, by the time I realised he was far ahead of me and I had to run, Rocky who was sitting started running after me.
It only took about 30 seconds to catch up with him, he turned around and looked me up and down "wow your a fast runner" he said but he sounded sad, I didn't question it though.
"So I have to bring you on a tour of the glade"
I didn't even realise he had started talking, I was so spaced out.

Newts pov:

Is she ok?, newt calm down she just came up in the box she's probably just thinking I have to say something, "so I have to bring you on a tour of the glade" she didn't respond she just kept walking with her head down, she's definitely going to be a runner, I was so far away from her but in less then a minute she was beside me walking normally not even out of breath.

Back to y/n's pov:

I snapped out of wherever I was thinking about and talked to newt for the first time in a hour, he looked startled hearing me speak,
"This is the kitchen and this is frypan, he's the one that cooks and gives you your food morning,noon and evening"

"Hey there greenie!" Frypan said I hid behind newt "haha, don't be scared greenie" he said
"Looks like she likes you Newt" he said while laughing again, "she has a mind of her own shes not a dog!" Newt said he sounded pissed off but before I could say anything Rocky jumped up on the counter and licked frypan

"haha, I think he likes you" I said, frypan was screaming in the back and ran off somewhere.
"Well that's frypan..."

The tour continued and newt showed me the kitchen, where meetings are held, the opening to the maze, the huts and hammocks were the boys sleep, he showed me the gardens and the place where the keep and slaughter animals.

But the one place he didn't tell me about or even the name of was this forest he said it was just a graveyard and that made me shiver "why would a group of teenagers have a graveyard?"
It was covered in evergreen trees and big bushes so you couldn't see in.

All of a sudden ably popped out of the forest and ran over to us, "so greenie since your a girl and this place is full of teenage boys, you'll sleep in newts hut till one is built for you"  he said
"What? Ably where am I going to sleep?" Newt asked, "you'll sleep in a hammock with the other shanks", "fine but only till she has her own.." he sounded kinda happy with me staying in his hut, I didn't overthink it though

"Did you tell her about the bonfire?" Ably said
"No...I forgot" newt said
"a bonfire?,what's that for?" "Every month, the same day, same time a new greenie shows up....so we have a bonfire to celebrate" ably said.
"There's one tonight to celebrate you, the first girl in the glade!" He added
The first girl? They had no girls here before?
"Also greenie do you remember you name?" Ably said "yes it's y/n" "that's a very pretty name y/n" he said I smiled at him then looked at newt he was staring blades at ably clearly jealous.
