IT WAS A morose day in daegu. the sky thundered as the cries of a newborn baby filled the room. at the sound of rain slapping against the windows, the man that was sobbing his eyes out stood up and walked towards his wife's lifeless body. the baby's cries was like white noise to the man.

"why'd you have to leave me like this, anna?" he questioned, staring at her. "kwang-ssi, we'll leave you alone for a few minutes." the doctor said, leaving with the nurses who were carrying the man's baby, to get her cleaned. kwang joohyuk gently held his wife's hand, his grip tightening when his body started shaking from how hard he was crying. that was when everything changed, all the things he told his wife about loving their child no matter who or what they are were taken back as he decided that it was the little devil's fault for his wife dying. the last thing he wanted was a stupid baby taking his wife's life.

"kwang-ssi? your baby." a nurse hands him the now quiet baby girl, "i don't want to see it." dehumanising his own daughter, joohyuk didn't even turn around to look at her but his mind swarmed with the hopes and promises of anna.

"no matter what happens to me, promise me that you will take care of her." "yes, i promise, my love."

so he had no choice, he had to keep her.

as 2 years pass by, his hatred towards the toddler only grew. the constant crying and screaming made him want to hit her every time. they had moved to france, purely intentionally for joohyuk to feel closer to his deceased wife, annastasia.

the tiny female toddler waddled her way towards her father who was sat passed out on the couch. she only stared at him, not disturbing him once. "i can feel you staring at me, nari." her father's sudden voice startled her, he startled her so much she plopped backwards onto the mat on her butt. "god. you are so annoying." joohyuk muttered, glancing at his daughter's face. "but you look so much like your mother..." he whispered, tears slowly building up in his eyes. annoyed with how he felt, he turned to the other side of the couch to avoid looking at her.
