Haunted House

Chapter 4

When I found out that my grandmother was dead, I quickly called my mom. She didn't answer. She must still be on the plane.

While waiting for my mom to call back, I watched the news trying to figure out how she died. I guess she was driving down a hill and slipped on a patch on ice.

Finally my mom called back an hour later saying that she is stuck in Florida because of a hurricane and she wont be back until Monday or Tuesday.

Oh..great now I'm going to be home this whole weekend alone. What am I going to do?? What if that creepy thing in the woods comes to haunt me??

Immediately I locked all the doors and then ran up into my room and started to cry. My grandmother and I were very close. We would go shopping together and have fun spending a weekend there talking about my social life. Anyways...

After that, I went back in my dad's office and took out the paper that I had in my pocket. I grabbed a book that was next to a big stack of papers. The cover of the book said 'Symbols.' I then quickly opened the book and searched for the missing symbols. When I was if finished I came up with this 'watch out.' Oh..no! Was my dad being threatened? By who?

I grabbed the book that said those symbols, and the one that has no writing on the pages. I looked at the pages, and I began to feel some indents in the pages. I had an idea. I grabbed my sister's marker that you could only see with a special light. I began to scribble in the book with the pen and the special light. The first page said "GO TO PAGE 24" I turned to page 24 and began to scribble. It looked like symbols again. I took the notes and the book up into my room and tried to figure it out all night. I didn't go to sleep until 4am.
