Haunted House

Chapter 5

The next morning I woke up to the sound of barking. I thought it was Peaches so I ran down the stairs. There was my dog, on the couch sound asleep. I looked out the windows and saw no sign of a dog anywhere. I began to think about what the thing was in the woods.

I went back upstairs and grabbed the 2 books and the piece of paper and quickly got dressed.

After, I came down the stairs and sat on the couch. I looked at the book that had no writing on it. I took the light and went to page 24.

On 24 with the light shining on it, I could understand the words. The words said

Dear Michael,

Meet us at the left trail and my dogs will be there. If you are not there by 3am then we will take you and your family.

Sweet dreams

Oh my gosh! My dad was taken by those people or things. Should I call the police? My mom? What should I do? If I called the police they would think I'm crazy and my mom wouldn't be able to come home early enough.

I grabbed Peaches' leash and headed out the door. I walked down to the left path. My heart pounded like it never had before. I took a deep breathe and started to walk down.

I began to hear voices. I wanted to run but something was telling me to stay. The voices stopped. I took a big sigh and shivered.

I got up to the bush where I heard something rolling down the hill the other day. I walked around the bush and nothing was there. I walked back on the path for a little while, until I heard the voices again but this time it was a little louder than before.

Peaches started to sniff off track deeper in the woods. I tried pulling her back to the path but then I finally gave up.

I began to see a little house but it got bigger the closer I got. I reached the house and it looked like it had been abandoned for a couple years. The voices started again and was so loud that it almost hurt. The house was one of the creepiest houses I've ever seen. Almost all of the window were broken. As the wind blew the floor started to creep from in the house.

I tied Peaches to a tree with a leash. I knocked on the door and no answer. I opened the door and said "hello? Anybody here?" I turned around and saw a guy wearing all black. His face 2 inches from mine. He said "going somewhere?" With a smirk on his face.
