(Y/N) was ushered into a grand carriage, Jean escorting the small teen up the steps. Inside was Kaeya, a gentle smile gracing his cheeks in a way never seen in the game. The taller man patted the empty space beside him, inviting the much smaller to sit beside him. (Y/N) sat tentatively, an uneasy glance thrown at the blue haired male.

Kaeya's eyes softened in a sympathetic, almost pitying way, at the sight of the teen's form, lifting his hand to pat the (n/h/c)ette's head in gentle rubs. The Cavalry Captain felt a painful twist in his stomach at the sight of their teary, red edged eyes and slightly flushed (s/t) cheeks. They majorly screwed up by taking this long to find the deity. But, something in him found (Y/N)'s crying face so adorable. Eyes rimmed with red, cheeks ever so slightly puffed, nose twitching, all like that of a little bunny. Silently scolding himself, 'you can't think of her grace like that!', the bluenette continued to pat silky, (h/t) hair, which smelled like honey and vanilla.

It began as an innocent head pat, just him trying to console the poor deity. He never expected the teen to launch themself into his embrace. (Y/N) was scared and honestly, touch starved. If Kaeya was offering comfort, you bet your ass they were taking it! The (e/c)-eyed teen sobbed into the taller's chest, releasing all the fear, dysphoria, and confusion that had built up over the course of the summer and this morning.

Kaeya held them in his arms, silently pulling (Y/N) onto his lap and whispering words of comfort into their ear. A sense of protectiveness and, something he couldn't quite identify, rose in his chest seeing the teen's small, vulnerable figure latching onto him for the comfort they, obviously, have been denied. It filled Kaeya, making him hold them closer, making him swear he'd never let his beloved creator suffer like this again.

The pair stayed like this until the (n/h/c)ette's sobs subsided. Slightly pulling away, (Y/N) whipped their tears and looked at the cavalry captain's gentle smile. He made them feel safe, like he was someone they could trust. So, they spoke.

"May I borrow your cape? I feel... exposed in this dress..." Their voice wobbled, nervous and sore from crying.

Kaeya wasted no time, unclipping his cape and wrapping it around the smaller. Taking a moment to admire how small and cute they look in it. However, before he could stop himself, Kaeya placed a delicate kiss on Her Grace's forehead. The bluenett's eyes widened, he'd committed a grievous crime. He assaulted Her Grace! But instead of pushing him away, (Y/N) buried their face back into his chest, hiding their flushed cheeks.

"Why is everyone calling me 'your grace?'" (Y/N) asked when they eventually looked at Kaeya again.

The bluenette was shocked, did (Y/N) truly not know? Did their reincarnation truly wipe their memory? It didn't matter. They were The Creator. And he'd make sure they were treated as such.

"You are the Great Goddess (d/n)(dead name), creator of this world, origin of all that is good, and mother to us all," Kaeya began, "You created this world and gave up your form to reincarnate as a mortal in another world. But you have returned to once again guide and rule your land!"

The teen was shocked. (Y/N)? A goddess? That's a joke right? Also, the name of The Great Goddess was their dead name? Wow. That just made things a thousand times more complicated. And why did The Knights of Favonius think they were the Great Goddess?!

"You... You have it wrong," (Y/N) denied as they slid off Kaeya's lap, "I'm not your goddess. I'm not even a girl. Let me introduce myself. Hi, I'm (Y/N). I'm 16 and my pronouns are they/them. I go to school at (s/n)(school name)."

The blue eyed male looked shocked, what did they mean? Of course they were The Great Goddess! They were in her sacred tree! Perhaps during their reincarnation, they decided they wanted to not be a woman. That made sense.

"I apologize for my rude behavior," the taller bowed, "I will now refer to Your Grace as a male now. Rest assured that everyone will be informed and punished severely, should they misgender you."

"NO!" (Y/N) yelled, tears once again peeking the corners of their eyes, exasperated and horrified, "no one should be punished if they misgender me! I'm not the goddess you're looking for! I'm just some kid! I'm not magic!"

Kaeya felt his heart break as rage filled his chest. Who made his Grace so insecure? Who broke the great god's self confidence down so far, that they couldn't accept the idea of being someone important!

No.

This wasn't right. Whoever did this had to be punished. And Kaeya would make sure of it.
