Chapter 2 - A Spark Of Redemption

Mars, the hero of this story, had lost. Mars and the rest of intergalactic-4 had lost. Visions of elbert and midas firing back as they dragged their body to cover, with no back up, no hope of success and definitely no way home. Mars thought to themselves, "today we truly have lost... it finally happened..."

Mars closed their eyes one final time. They saw the light, but this isn't what Mars thought the light would look like- the stories always said that they would have to walk towards it, in a long walk seeing the past memories of life, but this, this was a flash. A flash of blue not white. Something was different about this light. It seemed almost similar to the feeling of when Mars arrived in this world. Mars tried to wake up but all they saw was darkness, no sound to be heard for miles, just deep dark silence.

"Alright, let's get the IVs running and scientist power those sparky things up!!" Said a distant echoing voice.
"You mean a defibrillator, right Jones?"
"Yeah, what you said...  psst, Hey foundation, what's a defibrillator?"

There it was a again, that voice! There's people nearby. Mars was trying to wake up to find out what had happened back there, to see if their team was ok.

"Alright zappers are charged! Let's do this in three, two, one, ZAP!"

A spark of redemption flashed in mars' eyes as they woke up gasping for air. "Whoohooo! I did it, I saved the hero! Uhh I mean, yayyy we did it..." a strange man said.

"Where am I? Is my team ok? Who are you guys???" Mars asked in a panicked manner. "Whoa whoa, calm down its ok! You're in our medical facility at homebase, you were pretty beat up. I'm John, John Jones. And that big, tall scary guy is Dwayne, he doesn't like that name. and that guy with the big arm claw thing is the scientist Ryan. We together are the heroic team know as-"

"The seven" interrupted dwayne, "we are The seven, most of us are back at the warzone fighting still, but we got put on medical for you. Im the foundation, leader of the seven, we hear your team has depleted In size but still has a high reputation. If you're feeling well enough we need your team and Jones here to go on a mission into the core of the tower located I'm the centre of the island. This mission is vital to protecting the loopers and the zeropoint from collapse. You in?"

Mars had heard of the zeropoint in stories and had dreams of fighting to protecting it. Mars looked at Jones and thought he might hold them back but they reluctantly said "I'm in, when do we start?"
