Aaliyah woke up the next day to her phone ringing and she sat up yawning tiredly as she rubbed her eyes with her left hand while she reached for her phone. She knocked over a few things on her bedside table but grabbed her phone and answered it and brought the phone to her ear. "Hello?" she yawned again.

"Hello? Is this Ms. Steele-Pax?" a male voice asked.

"This is she. May I ask who this is?" Aaliyah stretched her arms out as she put the call on speaker.

"I am the lawyer for the lawsuit against your stepfather," the man explained.

"Oh! Oh, yes." Aaliyah was wide awake at the revelation. "Where should we meet to discuss the charges?"

"Is there anything close by to you?" he asked.

"Just some restaurants and some clothing stores." Aaliyah looked around to see if she had set out an outfit before she passed out.

"Okay. When are you available first of all?" the man asked.

"I am available today." Aaliyah got up and went to her virtual closet and pressed a button.

"I'll send you the destination for us to meet," he says, sending some of his information to her through text.

Aaliyah had gotten dressed and grabbed her phone to look at the information.

He had sent a destination to a restaurant.

She looked up the restaurant to see which one it was.

It was a bit far from where she was.

Aaliyah sighed and left her bedroom and went downstairs to walk out the door, lock it and was soon on her way to her destination by walking there.

She used the GPS.

She looked to the side and noticed the street was bare except for some cars parked here and there.

She sighed a bit.

She started jogging to make the journey quicker than just walking.

She spotted a familiar car.

She panicked and started running away.

He followed her.

She turned the corner and kept running, trying to find the nearest alleyway to hide in.

He cornered her.

She ran in the alleyway and turned a corner.

He kept on her.

She stopped running when she reached a dead-end. "No..." she whispered.

Brett got out of the car.

Aaliyah turned around to face him as she backed up a little.

"Aaliyah, it's me," Brett said.

"Brett?" Aaliyah asked as she stepped forward.

"Yeah. I was worried about you," he says.
