(A/n)—

Roxie heard Scorched Girl talking shit.

She just wants to talk with her for a bit.

3rd POV

Following the start of their "adventure", the Manager and his AI assistant traveled down the elevator and through the corridors of the Control Department. His demeanor was as if he already knew the entire layout of the facility, something that Angela took note of but did nothing about. Sometimes doing less was more fruitful than doing more, quite a contradicting line of thought but that was simply how it was.

No matter how frustratingly she wished it were not.

However, despite his knowledge in traversing through here, they had barely made any progress in regards to actually arriving at their destination. That was mainly due to the fact that she had underestimated the amount of brain damage that he actually had. At the moment, the Manager was nothing short of sprinting to anyone within the vicinity, like a child seeing a new toy, and pestering them over the tiniest thing that may interest him.

Truly the mindset a carefree child would have.

The few glares and stink eyes he received once he turned his back was evidence that he was as annoying as one too. Though such looks were immediately erased upon noticing Angela's presence following along right behind.

Taking her attention off the man-child running around like a headless chicken, Angela's mind wandered as she connected her "sight" to the security cameras near a certain captain's lodgings. Not even a second after she did a young man with raven-hair stepped out of one of the countless doors in the hallway.

Y/n L/n, Captain of the Reserves, marched his way down the hall with a determined look in his eyes.

Instantly her "vision" hyper-focused on his slightly glossy hair that swayed with his footsteps. His charming smile that exuded confidence along with his sharp eyes made him seem all the more dazzling.

The small droplets of water on his skin indicating that he just got out of a morning shower weren't missed by the AI either. In fact, it just made the scene all the more alluring to her.

She hadn't questioned why the camera had zoomed in on those details or even when. Angela just knew that it had become instinct for her to do so whenever she could.

Under the span of five seconds, all done subconsciously, nearly fifty pictures were taken and saved to a certain file in her hard drive. She internally denied it happening, it was a mis-click (it wasn't), and quickly cut the connection to the security cameras.

With her mind back to its tranquil and calm state, Angela prepared herself to deal with the Manager's antics. However, upon noticing the unnatural silence surrounding her presently, Angela's half-lidded eyes opened and took in the sight of an empty hallway.

Not a single soul, even the most important one under her watch, was present.

'How.......unpleasant."

It seemed that the Manager had wandered off on his own without her. That alone wouldn't have caused the sudden annoyance the AI was feeling to occur. In fact, it would have been advantageous to have a Manager who was competent enough to not waste time. Yes, it indeed would be beneficial......if it wasn't for the fact that the current state of the Manager was now an unpredictable variable.
