Seconds... Minutes... Hours. All spent in complete silence with only the howling of the wind to bring me comfort. I couldn't even stand to imagine the things these guys would do to us once they commneced the...the... Tests, or whatever they are. It was about seven or eight in the morning. I couldn't sleep at all last night, and the woman in the cell next to me snored like a hippo.
Boots squeaked in the hallway. A guard with a scar on his right cheek appeared. He seemed to have orders to get me, stating the obvious of course. He was already opening my cell. He started to speak but I cut him off.

"I know, I know. I'll go with you"

"Your presence has been requested in the lab facilities" he spoke in a raspy voice.

He grabbed my arm and led me down the hallway to the same door from yesterday. Except, when we entered that room, we went through another door. Then we went up a flight of stairs, then took a left turn. Then opened a door, and finally we arrived. The lab was entirely white, steryl looking instruments stood in a metal tray next to a hospital bed. The lights in the room were those often found in hospitals, so bright the light they emited was white. In the far corner there was a sink with a soap dispenser.
The doors behind me opened, letting in a guard holding Lucas in cuffs. Lucas looked drained, exhausted, lifeless; except he was alive. And when he looked up and met my eyes, all the energy in the world seemed to flow into him. Making his eyes open and his body straighten with an unknown power fueling him.
The guards seemed to be enjoying this spectacle of our love, until the doors on the apposite side of the room swung open revealing a middle aged man wearing a doctors coat and white gloves. The guards suddenly stiffened, and grabbed hold of the two of us.

"Good day, I see you are ready to begin with the procedures. Please lay down on the bed" he spoke to me and signaled to the bed.

"Of course" I walker over to it and layed down, putting my hands on my sides.

"Okay now, you, Lucas is it? You are going on the scale" he said.

Lucas walked over to the scale on the side of the room and step up on it. The doctor murmured something under his breath and examined the numbers on it.
He gestured for Lucas to step down.

"Okay now remove your clothes. Guards, wait outside I'll call you if I need to" Lucas looked at him pale.

"You don't actually mean... You know... In front of...her?" He said cheapishly.

"Yes I do mean in front of --her--" the doctor crossed his arms over his chest. "Do you really think she hasn't seen worse? You aren't three years old anymore"

If Lucas had gone pale before, he had now turned practically transparent. He began taking off his shirt slowly, soon enough he was standing in the middle of the room with a pile of clothes next to him.

"Don't worry I won't look" I said to him in an effort to bring him some comfort.

He let out a small sigh.
Although I had promised him I wouldn't look, I couldn't help taking a peek. He was standing with his back to me. I noticed emediately he had some kind of scars on his back; thick long scars that overlapped. They didn't look recent but just by looking at them I could tell they must've hurt.
I clamped my eyes shut again and turned my head to the opposite side.

"What are these from? Were you attacked?" I heard the doc ask.

"Yes, the Zaunted were nice enough to gift me those. It was a long time ago though." Silence fell over the room.

"Hey Lucas, can I open my eyes now? I'll fall asleep soon if I don't." I said, not completely lying. I was kinda tired.

I opened my eyes just as the doctor came to stand over me.

"Im just going to touch your stomach. No need to worry." He raised a little my shirt, and started pressing my stomach. "Any pain?"

"No... Is this really n-- Ah!" when he pressed the left side of my abdomen a radical pain spread right through me. The doc clicked his pen and placed it in the pocket of his coat.

"Mmm, I see. Come with me" he took me by the arm and led my out of the room into a hallway. We passed a few rooms until we reached one that read X-Rays in big red letters. "An assistant will be with you shortly. Nothing to worry about."

"You are a very bad liar doc, any one told you that before?" I laughed to myself. "Of course not, no one would ever dare to tell you that."
