“We might have to off a cop,” Jonah said when Vlad finally opened his door.

Jonah had given The Mayor through the weekend to deal with this cop. He hadn't heard from him in seven days now and he needed to get a plan in place. He had actually given himself seven days, seven days to be normal and get to know Samara and act like everything was okay. They had an event coming up this weekend however and usually The Mayor would be all over him about planning it so his silence didn't sit right. Everything was not okay and he needed to handle it.

“Why?” Vlad asked, his expression bored.

“Kicking up a fuss about his son. The rapist from The Festival,” Jonah told him.

“The Mayor can't shut him down?” Vlad shook his head, knowing they didn’t usually have to deal with the police.

“The Mayor is acting funny. I told him to handle it but we need a plan if he doesn’t,” Jonah explained.

“I’ll let Jonathan know to get a group together and work something out. Figure out where he lives and what risks we will have to deal with,” Vlad promised, “Speaking of risks, hows your new play thing?”

“Don’t call her that,” Jonah snapped, “She’s going to be a citizen, she deserves the respect we’re all shown.”

“And you trust her?”

“I do.”

“Does she know Zanders name yet?” Vlad asked, knowing that was the true sign of trust.

“No, but I have it under control,” Jonah told him, “Worry about the cop.”

“If you insist, Regale,” Vlad muttered.

With a quick nod, Jonah left. He had to check in with Salem and make sure she didn't need anything for the event this weekend. It would be a standard Hollow event, not as grand as The Festival, not as large either. He needed to head down and make sure Monty got The Forest cleaned and he wanted to see Samara. He had been toying with the idea of asking her to the event but he had no idea how she would feel about it, considering how well The Festival had gone for her.

An hour later, staring at Secrets door he still had no idea what to say. Despite being around her and watching her fit seamlessly into The Hollow, Jonah had not been able to be alone with her since he had asked her to stay. Leaning against the wall, he sighed. Everything sounded dumb, cliché. What if she felt uncomfortable going but said yes because he was King and he controlled who stayed? He shook his head to clear those thoughts away, he couldn't let his mind take that path otherwise he could ruin everything before it even started. Looking up when the door opened and Samara walked out, heading down the hallway without noticing him.

"Hi," Jonah said, startling her and making her jump.

"Jesus! You make it a habit to creep outside of girls' doors?" she laughed as he walked up to her.

"I was going to knock but you came out before I could figure out what I even wanted to say," he told her, falling into step with her, "Where are you heading?"

"The casino. I'm meeting Secret for dinner," she told him. Jonah just nodded and kept walking with her. After a few more minutes of silence, she nudged him, "Was there something you wanted to say?"

"Yup," he said, pulling her arm as she turned the wrong way, "Casino’s this way."

"Do I have to guess?" she asked, the Casino coming into view.
