CHAPTER III The Attack

As soon as I got the Duchess and the Duke of Akaan out of harm's way I began to pursue the assassin. The pursuit lead for a few miles then I lost him when he got on a speeder and drove off, so i returned to the hotel to check and make sure everyone was alright.

"Obi-Wan" Satine called out to me as she rushed my way. "Are you alright?" I asked concerned.

"A bit shaken up but unharmed the Duchess informed me. "did he get away?"

"Unfortunately yes" I replied then turning to the Duke of Akaan, "I will assign you a pair of guards and a safer place to stay until you leave for Mandallia, just in case the attacker decides to return" I said sternly. "You are not safe with that assassin around."

"I understand" the Duke replied sadly.

I turned to the Duchess "I suggest that you return to the palace and I will finish things up here, we must find them before the strike again" I said as we started for the airspeeders. I helped the Duchess in alongside the Duke of Akaan in the airspeeder headed for the palace, guards sat to either side of them, after-which I headed for the city's Security Center to find footage that may be connected to the attacker.

"My lord" one of the officers stood up upon seeing me. "What do we owe the honor?"

"I require your assistance" I replied, "I need Information about an assassin that attacked today."

"Of course, right away my lord," the officer said while pulling up security footage of the dinner party. "Here you are my lord" he stepped aside a bit so I could get a good look at the footage.

"Hmmmmmmm, THERE! " I pointed out a dark figure on top of one of the buildings out the window. "Can you brighten the image of that figure?"

"I can try, but it might be a bit blurry" a minute later the image was bright enough to show the metallic figure of an assassin droid. "Theres our attacker, an assassin droid." I sighed, why couldn't any meeting of any kind be without attacks?

"We'll scan the city for the assassin, but it may take a while" the Officer replied upon seeing the image.

"You might not have to, the assassin is probably going to try to finish its mission." I said. "let's have it come to us instead."

"So we set a trap?" asked the officer.

"Yes" I answered.

I headed out to meet up with Duchess Satine and the Duke of Akaan.

"Obi-Wan" Satine called out as I walked in the door. "What were you able to find out? Did you find it? Who was it?"

"It was an assassin droid" I replied "We still need to find out who sent it".

Satine shook her head "all this violence, when will it end?"

I hugged her and tried to give her comfort. Then I looked to the Duke of Akaan. "I will assign you guards until you leave" Then turning to the Duchess "Do you think you will be ok?"

"I will be fine, thanks, how about yourself?" Satine asked worriedly.

"I'll manage until we find out whos behind this." I replied I'm going to return to the Protection Office and see if any cameras were able to follow it."

"Good luck my love, and may the force be with you." Satine said, kissing me on the cheek.
