The Duke of Akaan was waiting for us at the landing pad with a smile on his face. "Welcome Duchess and Duke of Mandalore, how was your trip?
"Very well, thank you" Duchess Satine replied. "Thank you for inviting us."
"No need to thank me it was my pleasure and an honor! " the neighboring Duke chuckled. The Duke of Akaan was a plump man, tall and cheerful. As The Duke and I shook hands he showed us through the door. I station two guards at the door and two inside with us.
The room was well furnished and more people were inside.
"Welcoming the Duchess and Duke of Mandalore" our host shouted cheerfully. There was a table filled with food and big open windows. "Well, everyone help themselves to the food!" shouted the Duke.
I stood off to the side with a drink surveying the area and checking in with the guards, something about this dinner was off, something was going to happen I could feel it, but what and when... I must have looked worried because Satine came over to me. "Are you alright?"
"Yes" I replied "I just feel like something is going to happen , and I don't want anyone getting hurt."
Satine nodded before returning to conversation with the Duke of Akaan about the negotiations that are going to take place in a few days.
The feeling stuck with me for a While longer then I heard a "BANG" as the window shattered and a civilian fell dead to the floor next to Duchess Satine. I ran to her side and began to pull her away from the window as the other guards came in.
