“Real friends
There’s not many of us
We smile at each other
But how many honest?’’- from the song, ‘Real Friends’ by Kanye West
Crazy how we haven’t talked in a while
There used be a time when the best part of my day was me ringing your dial
Nowadays thoughts of you I keep in file
Keeping it far from my mind, I guess I’m trying too hard not to remember your smileHeaven seems hell-bent on keeping us apart
Though I’m always too busy imagining my characters as movie stars
And you’re filling your role at school trying to give your future a better start
In this act, I guess we shouldn’t blame the Lord if we both played a partExcuses and more excuses, we’ve become strangers
I wonder if you’ll remember me the day my face shows up in the papers
HEADLINE NEWS: ‘BEST SELLING AUTHOR, MALEGEND, IS A TRAITOR!’
But for real, will you still love me the day I have haters? These are the little fears I have
But more so, I fear my absence has made you sad
I apologise, though I know you already understand
I’m writing this trying to be more than just a dreaming manLOVE
Your BestieP.S. – I’ll call as soon as I can.
