My new office was scarcely decorated, but I liked it the moment I saw it.
The room was filled with sunlight beaming in through the massive windows. In front of the windows were an arm chair, and across from it was a small sofa with a coffee table in between the two chairs. There was also a large desk in one corner of the room with an office chair and computer. In the opposite corner there was a coffee machine sitting on top of a small wooden table.
As I walked into the room I felt something brush up against my thigh. When I looked, I found a small green plant. I leaned down to inspect it, rubbing the leaves of the plant between my fingers to determine if it was real or fake. Thankfully the leaves had a waxy texture, meaning the plant was probably fake. Don't get me wrong, I love plants, but I'm not good at keeping them alive; Ironically enough.
I curiously stepped further into the room to explore, Aizawa and Nezu following behind me as I looked around. All things considered, it was an excessively nice office and I could certainly tell that quite a bit of money went into preparing it. From the desk, to the seats, to the coffee machine, and even the fake plants, everything looked brand new. There was even a bookshelf lined with books, a rug, and various other decorations scattered around the room. It was obvious to me that no expense had been spared.
"So," Nezu began, coughing to grab my attention. "Is it to your liking?"
"Yes," I replied, turning to give him a grateful smile. "I have everything I need and more."
I made my way over to my new desk, tucking a loose strand of my navy blue hair behind my ear as I reached for the name plaque. It was a simple metal plaque that read 'Dr. Hisa Takahashi.' But it was strange seeing 'doctor' before my name, something about it felt wrong.
When I retired, I did so knowing that I would be hanging up my hat for good. I made the decision to stop being Dr. Hisa Kawasaki, and instead simply became miss Hisa. But now I was reclaiming my title, something I never imagined would happen, and I had no clue how to feel.
I flinched as a gentle hand came to rest on my shoulder. I turned my head, making eye contact with Aizawa.
"Miss Kawa- Takahashi," He said gently, his tired eyes looking slightly concerned. "Are you alright?"
For the first time in what felt like years I smiled, genuinely. "I'm fine, but I think I'm ready to meet your class now that I'm done looking around."
"In that case, I'll be on my way," Nezu chirped, grinning politely. "I hope you settle in here nicely, I'll be sure to stop by to have a cup of tea once you do."
"I look forward to it," I replied, chuckling softly. "Thank you for everything, I promise to work hard."
Nezu walked to the door, looking back to speak. "I have no doubts you will perform your job splendidly."
The creature that could've been a dog, or a mouse, or anything really left the office after that. Aizawa and I soon followed after him, leaving my new office and making our way towards Aizawa's class.
Aizawa sighed, scratching the side of his face. "Well, let's get this over with."
"Right," I nodded, heading for the door. "Hopefully I don't screw up my introduction."
"If you're that worried about slipping up I have a suggestion." Aizawa offered.
"What is it?" I asked, listening attentively.
"You could introduce yourself with only your first name," Aizawa advised with a shrug. "You seem to prefer when others use your given name, additionally, being casual with the students could help you gain their trust quicker."
