The sun hadn't even begun to peak over the horizon when there was a knock at the door. The knock was quiet, most likely to be polite towards the neighbours who were still sleeping, but it was loud enough to rouse Aizawa and I from our sleep.
Aizawa got to the door first and I followed after him, rubbing my eyes to get rid of any gunk so I could see who was at the door. When my eyes finally adjusted I was glad to see a familiar face.
"Sorry to bother you so early," Detective Tsukauchi said, handing Aizawa a large cardboard box. "But I brought Miss Hisa's belongings."
Aizawa passed the box to me and I set it down, grunting because of the weight. "Thanks for bringing this Detective, just let me make sure I have all the important stuff before you go."
"Sure thing." Tsukauchi nodded, stepping into the apartment and shutting the door behind him.
I ran to the kitchen to get a knife, and came back, crouching beside the box. I swiftly cut the packing tape and began taking items out of the box, making a pile of folded clothes beside me. At the bottom of the box was a framed picture which I carefully removed from the box, pleased to find that the glass was still in perfect condition.
"Is that the picture you were talking about?" Aizawa asked, barely suppressing a yawn.
I smiled, gently placing the picture on top of the pile of clothes. "Yes, this is the picture."
"Great," Tsukauchi chirped, clapping his hands together. "Then I'll be on my way, feel free to contact me if you need anything else."
"Thanks for all your help." I said, waving goodbye as Aizawa ushered Tsukauchi outside.
Aizawa closed the door with a yawn. "I'll be going back to bed for another hour."
"I'll make us some breakfast and clean up then," I offered, getting up off the floor. "I'll make sure you're up before we have to leave for work."
"Thanks." Aizawa replied, waving tiredly before disappearing into his bedroom.
I picked up the pile of clothes on the floor and the framed picture and headed to my room, setting everything down on my bed. I tucked the photo into my work bag and set to work on my clothes, sorting them into two piles. The first was stuff I could still wear, the second was stuff that would no longer fit me. Because my body has reset most of the clothes I had been wearing didn't fit anymore, but thankfully there were still a few items I could salvage.
My turtle necks and sweaters would be baggy on me, but at least my leggings still fit. Unfortunately, my jeans were now way too big for me. My waist, hips, and legs were all smaller now.
I couldn't help but sigh as I folded all my clothes that didn't fit, putting them at the very back of the closet. Next, I put away all the clothes I could still wear, leaving a set on the bed to wear today. I left out a grey turtleneck and black leggings, along with my white doctor's coat. I got dressed, finishing my look by slipping on my white coat, the sleeves hanging down to just above my knees.
I sighed and rolled up the sleeves, making a mental note to buy a sewing kit so I could temporarily alter the sleeves later.
Then I left my room and headed for the kitchen to start on breakfast. I opened the fridge, wondering what I could make with Aizawa's limited groceries. I spotted a carton of eggs and pulled them out, placing them on the counter. I searched the cupboards next, smiling to myself when I found some rice. His spice cabinet was rather bare, but thankfully I could whip something up with what he had.
Was it a cliche Japanese breakfast food? Yes. But it was something I was very familiar with making.
I put my long, dark blue hair up in a ponytail and set to work.
