Prologue
Edith and her friends were in full Stalker fighting gear when the clear light blue sky was disturbed by a lightning streak and turned dunk purple. Thunder clouds were forming in the sky and suddenly chaos broke out. There was a second lightning streak in the angry purple sky when the sign the Stalker world had been dreading marked the sky. A red star with a blue lightning streak across it. The sign of the victory of their enemies: the Sorcerers.
The Sorcerers, and the stalkers had never been friends. In fact, they had been enemies ever since the Angels had taken back the elements of wind and ice from the world of the Sorcerers because of their betrayal. The Sorcerers had been using the elements to try and take down the kingdom of the Stalkers, for they wanted to control all the elements of the world and rule. But before they could attack, Angel Amaryllis, the Gaurdian of the Elements had taken back the elements. The Sorcerers had teamed up with the Devils and the Demons, vicious beasts and monsters controlled by the Devils, to take down and defeat the Angels and control the world once and for all. It had always been the Stalkers' worst nightmare as they were the Gaurdians of the Earth. And now, their nightmare had come true.
Edith looked in fear at her best friend, Elizabeth, who was looking at the mark in the sky with an expression of fear and anger on her face.
"What do we do?", asked Elisabeth, finally I turning away from the mark.
'I don't k-", Edith suddenly gasped as she heard someone's voice in her head.
"Come to your house quickly, Edith. Meet me there, I'm waiting.""
The voice was smooth and musical and had a sense of power in it. Back to her senses, she became aware that Elisabeth was shaking her hard by the shoulders.
"What's wrong, Edith ? Who's talking to you?", she asked.
"Lis, make a portal to my house now. Someone's waiting for us there" said Edith, opening her eyes.
"Why?" asked Elizabeth.
"It's urgent. It may be of help " said Edith.
Elisabeth quickly nodded and put her hands in front of her, palms flat. A glowing blue liquid-like substance came out of each of her hands and formed a large oval shape in front of her. It grew bigger and bigger until it became big enough for a human to walk inside.
Elisabeth turned to Edith and gestured with her head to enter the Portal. Edith walked up to it and carefully stepped inside, closing her eyes. The blue substance, even though it looked liquidy, felt light and smoky. After a moment or two, light stung her eyelids and the smell of rich, moist Earth filled her nose. She straightened herself and Elisabeth stepped out of the portal behind her and closed it.
Elisabeth scanned the house and the forest beside it and turned to Edith.
"There's no one here", said Elisabeth, frowning.
"Edith Winterly, Elisabeth Jackson, I am the one who summoned you here"
The new voice behind them made them both turn and sink gracefully to their knees, heads bowed in respect.
"Angel Amaryllis, Guardian Angel of the Elements, it is an honor", said Edith, raising from the ground after a few moments. She raised her head and give a small gasp at the stunning beauty of the Angel. Angel Amaryllis's hair was a startling red, which was braided with tiny flowers. Every Angel had golden eyes and hers were too. Her pale skin was glowing and she was wearing a long white gown which hid her feet. She was floating a few inches above the ground and her wings were hid.
Angel Amaryllis suddenly looked up at the sky which was still a dark purple. A small look of fear passed her beautiful face. She turned to Edith and Elisabeth.
Angel Amaryllis cupped her hands and closed her eyes. Elisabeth let out a tiny gasp as she watched the Angel. The Angel's beautiful red hair was becoming a dull brown. Her skin was losing its glow. And the Angel was starting to look a little weak. Angel Amaryllis opened her eyes and looked into her cupped hands. There was a ball of light in her hands, which slowly disappeared, leaving a tiny black ball.
"This is the seed of the Tree of Elements "she said, looking at Edith. "This tree, if planted in this world by your hands, will keep our enemies away from this planet and our world until the three children who are born with the same star enter the world, and claim their elements. One of them will be my child, one will yours", the Angel indicated Elisabeth, who looked shocked, "and the other will be yours" she finished, looking at Edith.
Edith looked closely and realized that it was a black seed. The Angel came closer to Edith and indicated the dark seed. Edith hesitated.
Amaryllis placed the seed in Edith's hands and said, " You must plant the Tree now before it's too late "she said, "Plant the seed and the blow three times into where you planted and move away, for it will grow instantly. I wish you both, Good Luck"
They bowed again as the Angel vanished and the friends looked at each other, lost for words.
Sometime Later....
"Dig faster, Edith, faster!", Elisabeth urged Edith who was kneeling on the ground in the most suitable place she could find, digging as fast as she could. Elizabeth was standing behind her, one of her bands holding a jug of water and the other hand, on her hip, Iooking impatient.
"Ok, It's finished!", said Edith happily standing up. She bent down again and put the black seed in the hole she had carefully dig, and slowly and carefully closed the hole with her hand. Edith stood up quickly washed her hands, and rushed back to where the seed had just been planted. She watched as Elizabeth carefully tilted the jug of water and poured it into exact spot where the seed was lying. Edith bent down to her knees and softly blew three times. The ground suddenly started shaking and the friends quickly moved away.
She heard a small gasp as a stem came out from the soil. It grew bigger and bigger, and it reached the length of two people. It's trunk was thicker than any other Edith had ever seen. The tree quickly sprouted leaves, and lots of beautiful flowers, like that which Angel Amaryllis had her hair braided with, grew on the branches. It grow with such speed that within a few seconds, the top half of the Tree was thick and dense. Elisabeth suddenly nudged Edith and looked pointedly at the Tree's trunk. Edith felt her eyes widen. There, on the trunk were five of the Gemstones of the Elements. They were huge, and each represented the color of each of the Elements; the Element of Ice, Fire, Water, Nature and Air. Below was another gem, a pearly white Moonstone. Edith instantly knew what the Moonstone was there for. Moonstones were used and considered the most powerful for breaking disguisement and concealment spells. It was because the Angel wanted Edith to send the Daughter of the Angels to the human world. The Angel wanted her to be in the shadows until she came of age. Until she became powerful enough to defeat the enemies of peace with her fellow Dawnstalkers.
Unknown by them, far far away, in the Kingdom of Torque, a few months before, a siren had prophesied about the Dawnstalkers.
