Chapter 20

Elena's POV.

I turned on my flashlight and saw Matt standing infront of me with a machete.

I fell down on floor with a thump.

"Surprise...surprise..." He said and my heart was pounding with fear.

I was so scared. He took some steps towards me and stood just infront of me. He lifted the machete to kill me and i screamed covering my face.

I opened my eyes and saw him smirking.

"Ohh You're still alive!" He said sarcastically.

Suddenly he started laughing. Lights turned on. I closed my eyes as the lights were really affecting my eyes.

I opened my eyes adjusting with the lights and saw everyone laughing. Especially Chris and Matt. Seraa was looking at me with pity but then she also started laughing. My heart broke when i saw Eric trying to control his laugh. I was about to stood up when a bucket of cold water fell on me.

"Matt!" Eric yelled at him,"I told you not to do that!"

The water it was really cold. As cold as ice. My bones were chilling.

Serra came towards me but i stopped her. I don't need anyone's help. She looked guilty.

"Oh come on Elle we were just playing...it was a prank." Matt said smirking. And honestly i can't expect anything from him but Serra and Chris were also into this. And How can I forget Eric!

"God...you were looking so funny." Chris said and i was annoyed.

"Stop it everybody!" He shouted and everyone stopped."Matt why did you do that?" Eric scolded him and he just ignored and i know he's trying to cover up his behaviour.

"It's okay Eric. You don't have to pretend as if you care about me..." I said bitterly and his face fell down.

"Pretend? I'm not pretending. I wasn't into this. I didn't knew anything." He said and i nodded. My head felt heavy. It was aching. The cold water....

I tripped but someone hold me. It was Eric. I wanted to push him away but i lost consciousness before that.

I woke up in my room. I saw Eric sitting on the couch with his interwined fingers resting on his forehead and he was constantly looking at floor in deep thoughts. 

I removed the blanket away and he looked at me.

"How are you feeling?" He asked coming closer.

"I guess you should ask Matt." I taunted and ask him to leave.

But he didn't moved from his place.

I grabbed his hand and dragged him towards the Exit. I pushed him out and closed the door.

What they did today was so inhuman. I was so scared. One more sec and i would have died of Cardiac arrest. I won't forgive them for this.

I went to washroom and changed my clothes into a new pair of night dress.

I went out and laid on my bed when i heard a loud bang on my door.

"Elena open the door!" He yelled and i sheriked in fear.

"Eric leave!" I yelled at him but no use. He kept on banging the door and i opened it when i felt he'll broke it.

"Are you okay?" He asked looking at my face and check my temperature.

He immediately hugged me and sighed in relief.

"Thank God you're okay." He said and i pushed him away.
