"What do you want... Diao?" Lian asked without looking at his guest.

"Ugh, that's fucking cold. You know you should learn from Kuea. He calls my name oh-so sweetly. He calls me like---"

"What. Do. You. Want." Lian repeated, eyes shooting daggers at him and gritting his teeth with every word.

"Oh gosh, chill!" Diao, originally known as Nuxx, exclaimed as he slammed the magazine on the coffee table.

"I need your help." Diao confessed, Lian's brow raised at his sudden moodswing.

"You're Nuxx. What the hell do you need my help for?" Lian asked.

"Well~ there's a guy on Aelin's team. His name is Yi." Diao started, almost blushing with name that came from his lips.

"Yi? Not familiar." Lian asked, eyes shifting back on his iPad to read a proposal from one of the overseas branch before looking back at his desktop to check another file.

"I want him." Diao frankly said as Lian's eyes got back to him.

"You say he's on mother's team? Probably a prodigy trainee. I can't just give him to you like a toy. He's not even under me." Lian clarified, intending to kill whatever the latter was planning.

"Well I know that much. It'll be summer break soon and I plan on applying as a company trainee. You can get me a spot, right?" Diao asked with a sweet smile on his lips.

"What do I gain from this?" Lian asked, eyes trying to read the sly demon infront of him.

"A-are you fucking kidding me? After I helped you get that child back? Wow, you are shameless!" Diao exclaimed throwing his hands in the air as if ready to throw a tantrum.

Flashbacks from the past came rushing on Lian's memory with the latter's words.

He was indeed of big help since he made contact with Kuea. In fact, upon knowing that Nuxx approached Kuea pretending to be Diao, Lian tracked him down and attacked, burning almost half of the mansion. In the end, Nuxx was able to convince Lian that it's all for Kuea's sake since he wanted to make sure that the curse remained sealed.

Nuxx had no choice but to push through with the consequence of his curiosity and be Kuea's friend, be Diao. Though it was out of the plan, Diao ended up helping Lian throughout the months that he was gone.

"You don't even have the slightest idea on what I went through just to bring Lorri's memory back. It felt like shit, I tell you! I even had to arrange everything for them to meet!" Diao exclaimed as the latter had his fingers on his temple, massaging it in annoyance.

From what happened at the clinic to the day Lorri met Kuea, everything was a part of Diao's plan to make him remember.

"I even had to push my acting skills just for you!" Diao reminded more as the building incident crossed his mind.

The way he cried and looked scared to death was all an act to convince Kuea. It was Lian's plan but Diao had the most important part.

"Fine. I'll help you if you answer my questions." Lian said in defeat with the most important question on his mind as Diao nodded in agreement.

"What is Kuea's father." Lian asked as a smirk formed Diao's lips.

"Oh haha. I got nervous for no reason." Diao chuckled as his eyes shifted back to the magazine he was holding.

"Do you know who attacked mother in the past?" Lian added as the latter showed little to no interest on the topic.

Diao smiled as he flipped another page and read the details on it. Lian never liked how this demon triggered his patience everytime they meet. That moment wasn't an exception.
