Chapter 8: Mudblood

 With the aftermath of Rosa's attack, the escaped prisoner was the last thing on students' minds. The whole school seemed to only be able to talk about Rosa, everything about her. Whether she deserved to be attacked. Was she a true Weasley since she was a Slytherin. And the craziest one of all, if her mother cheated and that's how she was a Slytherin. Of course, her mother would never, plus her TWIN was Ron.

'Are people idiots?' Rosa thought, sitting in an armchair in the main area of the common room. "Whatcha reading there Rosa?" Theodore asks, looking over the armchair. "A book on past famous wizards. So, Merlin, the founders of Hogwart, the Peverell brothers, Grindelwald, Dumbledore, Nicolas Flammel, people like that and their successes. Its rather interesting" Rosa answers. She looks up to see the whole group she has come to befriend staring at her. "I am so sorry, I was rambling. I didn't mean to bore you all" Rosa says, frantic.

"You didn't bore us! We were listening!" Enzo says cheery. Rosa gets a small smile when she sees most of the group smiling back at her. The only person not smiling was Draco Malfoy. "What's wrong Draco? Where's Astoria?" Rosa asks, concerned. Draco scoffs before starting to whine. "Astoria is fine, getting her stuff ready to leave. It's that stupid Granger girl. She punched me before you were attacked. For No REASON!" Draco whines.

"Well, I wouldn't say no reason! You made fun of the bird thing's death and called her a mudblood, you're not wrong, but you provoked her" Pansy laughs. "You called her that awful anime!" Rosa exclaims, dumbfounded. "Awful anime? Ha! Rosa you're funny!" Theodore laughs. "I'm not trying to be funny, Nott! That word is not a nice word to describe people with! Especially to their face! Though you should never say it!" Rosa shouts.

"Rosa calm down, mudblood isn't that bad! Honestly!" Pansy says. "No! It is! It means dirty blood as if you are better because you're a pureblood!" Rosa tries to explain. "I didn't know that, but it's not wrong? We are better than mudbloods" Blaise says, raising an eyebrow, confused at why Rosa cares so much.

"You aren't better though! You can't all be pureblood, can you?!" Rosa exclaims. They all look around before looking back at Rosa. "Yea, we all are, except Mattheo" Enzo answers. Rosa looks at them all seeing they are entirely serious. "You're not joking? You all are purebloods and think you are better than Hermione just because your parents were wizards? You know how brilliant she is? Much more than you lot!" Rosa chastises.

"Yes, we are better than Granger because we have a magical lineage unlike her! No matter how smart that mudblood is" Draco spats. "But Mattheo isn't even pureblood! And the rest of you are some of the dumbest blokes I have met! Magical family has nothing to do with it!" Rosa yells again. Every person in the group looked disgusted by Rosa's words. Even Rosa. Never in a million years did Rosa imagine herself using someone's intelligence and blood status against them. 'What I said wasn't as bad as what they said... right?' Rosa thought.

"Well, I may be a half-blood, but at least I have family loyalty! AND my mother happens to be Bellatrix Lestrange! Who was a Black! I'm Draco's cousin, remember! And I am the smartest Slytherin in our year!" Mattheo snaps back. Rosa is stunned. She knew all these things, but she thought that after the progress they had made, Mattheo wouldn't snap at her again. "I agree Mattheo, you are smart. But just because of who your parents are doesn't make you better than everyone" Rosa says.

"Oh, and you're so high and mighty Miss Weasley. Daughter of Arthur Weasley, who guess what. Is Cendrella Weasley's son, who was a Black" Mattheo snorts. "Yea, I know who my grandmother is. My middle name is Cendrella for because of the sacrifice she made to LEAVE her pureblood supremacist family" Rosa retorts. Mattheo scoffs, "Pureblood supremacists. You use those words as if it isn't as bad as mudblood." "It isn't as bad! Your word is to describe how they don't deserve magic since they are muggleborn. When I use the words, it is to describe the purebloods who think it's okay to use that heinous of a word" Rosa yells.

"Welcome to the purebloods Weasley! Look in the mirror! You're a pureblood!" Mattheo shouts. "Yea, one that prior to meeting me you all called a blood traitor" Rosa says calmly. Everyone realises that Rosa's right. If Rosa wasn't as bad as their families said, maybe the muggleborns aren't either. "I gotta go. Must grab my things before we get on the train to go home. Last day of school and all" Rosa says, after clearing her throat. Rosa stands up and leaves the group alone and stunned in their seats.

The train that is the Hogwarts express was about to leave the station at Hogwarts for the last time until the summer is over. Students walking up and down its narrow halls trying to find their friends and a compartment to sit in. Rosa on the other hand was more depressed than she normally was on the train. She was going to have to sit alone again. This was the normal part; she was used to it.

Not even her siblings ever offered for her to sit with them. But she thought it was going to be different this year and for the years to come. She thought she could sit with the people she thought were her friends. But no. They were mad at her, and she was mad at them.

Rosa was standing in a hall on the Hogwarts express trying to figure out where to sit when Draco and Mattheo walk up to her. She turns to walk away but Mattheo grabs her arm. She turns around and sees the sincerity on their faces. "We are sorry Rosa," Mattheo says. Draco clears his throat, "We won't use that word ever again." Rosa gets a smile on her face, so does Mattheo and Draco. "Come sit with us please?" Draco asks. "Yes, I will. And I'm sorry for what I said as well. To all of you and to you Mattheo. It was wrong of me," Rosa says. "It's alright Weasley, all is forgiven" Mattheo says with a smile.

The three walk to the compartment that all their friends were in. Everyone gave Rosa one of the biggest smiles, but one person yet again. The entire group chatted happily to each other the entire ride. Astoria was giving Rosa evil looks the whole time.
