CHAPTER 2

Standing in front of the door I was thinking about some excuse so that I don't get scolded. After opening the door I saw grandma sitting on sofa with worried expression. Oops I didn't mentioned angry one. " Where were you?" she asked sternly. " Grandma actually the owner was late so that's why I had to wait there for him." "Hmmm. Don't do this again I was worried about you." "I am sorry grandma" I said while lowering my head. " It's okay" after saying that she left to her room. I also went to my room and laid on my bed. When I closed my eyes I saw his face. "Edward" his name left my mouth. I didn't tell my grandmother about yesterday's incident because I didn't want her to get worried about me. Moreover she could have forced me for quitting my job. After thinking for a while I slept.

NEXT DAY.....

I was studying in my class when Lucy wrote something on my notebook. " Let's go to club". "I can't" I replied. "WHY" she asked very loudly. Everyone was looking at us even professor. She apologised quickly and everyone started focusing on the lecture again. I shook my head at her behaviour. She again questioned me. " I have to work " I replied. "Ditch work for me for one time pleeeeeaaaaassseee" she whispered with pleading eyes. I sighed " what about grandma" I said. " I already asked her on behalf of you and she agreed" she replied. I looked at her with my shocked eyes and she winked at me.

After class I spent my whole day in library so that I can prepare for my exams. After that I went to the convenience store with Lucy and as usual Mrs Watson asked about our day and left to buy some groceries. She was a nice lady who always treated me nicely. After working I went back home. When I opened the door grandma suddenly hugged me. "You are back" she said while hugging me. I was shocked. I decided to ask her about the club but before that she said while breaking the hug" You must be getting late for party." I widened my eyes because of shock. She chuckled at my reaction and said" I know you would be thinking that I am acting weird . Yesterday I scolded you for coming late and now I am excited about you going to a club. But yesterday you were irresponsible for not informing me that you will come late and I am really glad to know that you are enjoying your life. That was all I wanted from starting and I am also not against of having a boyfriend." She whispered the last part. I widened my eyes again and whined like a child in front of her. She chuckled at my reaction and said " Now hurry up get ready I bought a dress for you." I went to my room and got ready. The dress was very pretty. It was a black bodycon dress reaching my thighs and perfectly defining my curves. I wore matching black heels . After getting ready I went downstairs and saw Lucy was already sitting on couch and having a little chitchat with grandma. Both of them are very close and grandma always treated her like her own granddaughter. When they saw me their eyes widened. I gave them an awkward smile and lowered my head. "OH. MY. GOD. you are looking so beautiful" Lucy shouted. " Yes Angel you are looking really beautiful darling" my grandma complimented me. " Now we should go" Lucy said. "Yes of course and have fun girls..." my grandma winked at us. We took cab to reach there. After that we went inside. Some were dancing some were making out in the corner and some were drinking. Lucy dragged me towards the dance floor and we danced for sometime after that we went to the bar for having some drinks because I was thirsty. I ordered a soft drink and Lucy ordered some shots. After that she went to dance floor again. And here I was sitting alone. I wanted to go washroom and started searching for it. I went upstairs but while walking I bumped into a man. He was drunk. I quickly apologised and thought of leaving not wanting any troubles but before that he held my wrist and said " Hey babygirl." "Leave me" I said while trying to remove my wrist from his hold. "Not that easily" he said. I kicked him in his stomach and started running. I didn't know where I was going but the only thing that I knew was that he is FOLLOWING me. While running I bumped into a hard chest but the scent was familiar. When I raised my head to see with whom I bumped. I again saw those mesmerizing pair of blue eyes. We were staring into each others eyes but the beautiful moment was interrupted. "Caught you" the man said while holding my wrist harshly. It was that drunk man. I widened my eyes and again tried to get out of his hold. He was holding my wrist so tightly that it left bruises and started dragging me but someone held my other wrist from behind. When I turned around I saw Edward holding my hand gently. At that time I was thinking " What a GENTLEMAN". I snapped out of my thoughts when he yelled out of anger " LEAVE HER." The man yelled in frustration and turned around to see who it is " WHO ARE..." but when he saw his face he became silent and left my wrist and bent down on his knees while lowering his head and said" I am so sorry I didn't know she is related to you. If I have known I wouldn't have laid a single finger on her. Please forgive me. Please don't kill me". Edward pulled me behind him still holding my hand. " Not only her but you shouldn't do this to any girl" he said sternly and coldly. " I will not. Please forgive me" the man said while crying. Edward just smirked and said " You will not be able to". Hearing this the man looked at him with wide eyes and had a terrified look on his face. " Take him to the basement" Edward ordered his men and they immediately took him. All I could hear was his yelling and begging for his life. Suddenly Edward turned towards me and asked" What are you doing here?" "I came here with my friend" I replied. "No what are you doing here upstairs? It's not safe " he again asked. " I wanted to go washroom and came here in search of it". He started dragging me and then we went inside a room. He left my wrist and said "you can use washroom." I went to washroom to freshen up and then came out. I saw Edward sitting on bed using his phone and legs crossed. He was so handsome that I can't define it in words.

"Done checking me out?" his question made me to snap out of my thoughts. "I wasn't" I replied not looking in his eyes. He stood up and came towards me with slow steps. "Wh...wha..t a..re you do.....doing ?"I asked with low voice while moving backwards and my back hit the wall. He stood in front of me and placed his both hands beside my head and stared into my eyes and I looked down. It was looking like a romantic scene.... but it made so nervous that I thought that I am gonna faint anytime soon.

"Then why are you not looking into my eyes" he asked. "huh" I lifted my head up only to see him so close to me. "If you were not checking me out then why are you not looking at me?" he asked. It was obvious that I was checking him out but how can I accept it in front of him. This so embarrassing. " NOW SILENT, ARE WE?MISS ANGEL.... " .After hearing my name from his mouth made my heart flutter. My name sounds so good from his mouth and cherry on the top is that it sounds more sexy in his deep voice. Oh God what should I do with myself but its not my fault that he is this much sexy and hot. I was thinking all this while looking into his eyes and then he said" Again with this staring game" and lifted his left eyebrow. "L...let's go" I said looking down at my hands but I could feel his smirk. He removed his hands from side and took some steps away from me maintaining a safe distance. After that we went downstairs and when Lucy saw me she ran towards me and hugged me tightly. "Where were you? I was so worried. Are you alright? Did someone hurt you?" she asked in one go without taking a breath. I chuckled at her reaction. "I am alright I just went to washroom. " I answered. She sighed out of relief and said "thank god you are fine. I thought something happened to you?" I smiled seeing worry in her eyes for me. "Don't worry I am alright" I said. "Hmm" she hummed. After that we enjoyed a lot and I realised that my saviour nowhere to be found. We went home and my grandmother was slept so I went straight to my room and changed into my pyjamas and went to sleep. But when I closed my eyes and today's incident came into my mind "It's better for me to not get indulge with him..". After that night we didn't meet and I worked hard for my exams as it became a hectic week for me as I had to do part time job and give exam next day but I had to do it. After a week my exams were over and my college life also. Now tomorrow is my result and it is making me anxious. While lying on my bed I was thinking about my result and the companies in which I have applied for job. I was still working part time since I had no job right now.

NEXT MORNING...

I was eating my breakfast with grandma when Lucy came. "Hi grandma" she said while hugging grandma. "Hi bestie" she said to me and hugged me . "Lucy have breakfast with us" my grandma said with a smile. "No grandma I already had my breakfast before coming here" she replied. "Lets see our result Angel" she said. "Now?" I asked. "yeah, they said it would be uploaded by 9:00 am and its 9:30 now." She said. I was getting nervous. A warm hand was placed on my cold ones. It was grandma. She smiled and said " It will be alright ". I smiled looking at her and then looked at the screen of my laptop where Lucy is checking our result. I closed my eyes not having the courage to see my result and then suddenly Lucy shouted my name "OH MY GOD ANGEL" I opened my eyes and she said " You got the 1st position " I was so happy I hugged her and she also hugged me back. I hugged grandma and asked Lucy "what about you?". "I got 2nd position " she said while jumping up and down with excitement. I chuckled at her reaction and said " Congrats" and she replied "thanks".

After that we went to a restaurant to celebrate. And then my grandma gifted a very pretty butterfly necklace to me and said "I want you to live your life to the fullest and I pray to god that he gives you whatever you want". I had the tears of happiness and joy in my eyes. At night I was checking my mails when I saw an email from a company and not from any company the most famous company in the world "KAYLEY ENTERPRISES" and they asked me to come for an interview tomorrow. Like wow today is my day, first my result and than this job "Thank you so much god". I told my grandma about my interview and I was so nervous about it.

NEXT MORNING..

I went there and asked the receptionist about the interview and she guided me to the cabin of their CEO. "Sir a girl has come for the interview" she said and I was standing outside. "Tell her to come in and you can leave" he said. That sounds familiar. I snapped out of my thoughts when she came out and told me to go inside. I bowed to her and said thank you . She smiled towards me and wished me best of luck. After that I knocked the door "come in" someone said from inside. I opened the door and went inside and when I saw the person I was shocked and one word came out from my mouth "EDWARD..."
