Myra's POV:
As soon as I walk outside the cold breeze of mid-fall air covers my face, making my arms shake from the cold. I tighten my sweater around my body as I pull my phone out of my pocket, booking an uber to take me home. It says it should be here in about five minutes, so I wait in the freezing air as I see a shadow approach from behind me. I turn around and see piercing green eyes looking straight into mine. Only then do I realize Eloise our waitress from earlier is behind me. "I know you were covering for them." She says in a fierce but quiet tone. I shift my eyes down to my feet as I contemplate my answer. "You don't need to lie, I could hear it in your voice, you're quite the terrible liar." A small smile spreads across my face. "I'm not that terrible." I say looking at her, she rolls her eyes at that. "Just so you know you can tell me. If I were to tell anyone I could've told my manager, but I didn't because you looked like you needed a break." I laugh but it comes out as more of a puff of air. "Thank you, I really appreciate it." She nods her head not knowing what to say after that.
"Are you okay though, do you need a ride home? My shift is almost finished." She says as I smile at her kind gesture.
"Thank you, but no thank you. I just called an uber to pick me up." I say as she nods her head.
"Well, it was nice meeting you, I hope we can meet again soon." She speaks.
"Me too... do you want my number?" I say as I pull my phone back from out my pocket.
"Sure, why not I could use someone to talk too." She says pulling out her phone.
After that we say bye and she tells me to text her if I need to as she disappears into the restaurant. Just as she does my uber pulls up.
