"No because you ain't doing it right!" The new animatronic teased. Freddy and the gang had just come to meet the newest secondary animatronic going by "Montgomery Gator". It struck close to home for Chica, Bonnie, and Freddy, since this attraction was supposed to be built for Foxy.
Foxy was meant to be upgraded to a glamrock and get this location for his adventures. This was meant to be 'High Seas Encounter". It was going to be a small pirate-themed water amusement park within the building. The project was unfortunately canceled because they could not get Glamrock Foxy's prototype to work right. Because Foxy had a reputation of not working correctly in every location, they decided to just scrap the project. And sadly, all their old pal Foxy got was a small play area named after his old attractions in the past locations.
The new animatronic was not too bad though. Obviously it was not the gator's fault, so it would've been unfair for the three of them to hold that against Montgomery. Montgomery's playful jab made Bonnie crack up, holding up the golf club defensively. "Hey, hey, don't hate. I'm used rolling not hitting." Bonnie said. Freddy and the others laughed at that.
"Hey, can I just call you Monty? Saying your full name is kinda' a mouthful." Bonnie asked. The gator chuckled. "You can call me whatever you like, just don't call me lame!" He said. Bonnie rolled his eyes at that, turning to Freddy in concern. Freddy and Montgomery did not have a good meeting. The gator just...did not seem to like Freddy. Which was a huge shock to the bunny, Freddy was the most loveable guy he's ever met. Their first meeting did not go very well, and the bear was still visibly awkward. Bonnie decided they need to retire early for the night.
"Hey, you guys can enjoy the rest of the game. I gotta' shut off for the night. Freddy, come with me." He played it off as cool as possible. Freddy visibly relaxed, following the bunny out quickly. The two could only hope it did not look suspicious. Freddy and Bonnie had to keep their relationship as secretive as possible. Animatronics feeling anything other than friendship towards each other would lead to disaster. They'd be mistaken for broken and get 'fixed'. This is why they could not let any of the other animatronics know either. They cannot risk word getting out. To everyone in the pizza plex, Freddy and Bonnie were just best friends.
As soon as they were out of the golf course, Bonnie took Freddy's hand. He gave it a gentle squeeze and looked the bear in the eyes. "It'll be ok, honey. Sometimes first meetings just don't work out-" he tried comforting the bear. Freddy sighed. "I know...I just hope I can at least get along at work with the guy..." His ears lowered. Bonnie gave him a sympathetic smile. "Remember our first meeting?" Bonnie asked. Freddy chuckled.
"How could I forget? Both of us were so competitive!" He laughed. Bonnie hugged his arm tightly. "You and I did not get along at all...we were such competitors-"
"You 'accidentally' dropped a pizza on me! It took days to get that out of my fur!" Freddy exclaimed, finally losing his composure. Bonnie wheezed, he completely forgot about that.
"It looked good on you though!" The bunny teased. Freddy shoved him off playfully. Bonnie, in return rammed into his side. He did not nearly knock the bear as off balance as Freddy did with him, but the bear still stumbled. Their playful shoving soon turned into rough-housing and chasing around the lobby. Bonnie does not remember how long it went on, but every second of it was worth it to see Freddy so happy again. Bonnie ended their cat and mouse game by tackling Freddy to the ground. They both laughed it off and calmed down. Bonnie was leaning on top of him and they were staring into each other's eyes again. Freddy could get so lost in those beautiful doe-eyes. Bonnie pressed their foreheads together affectionately. "...my point was...you guys will get along, don't worry about it Fred." Bonnie then gently kissed his forehead.
"How could anyone not love you~?" Bonnie asked. Freddy sighed contently.
"...what did I do to deserve you, Bon?" Freddy mumbled. Bonnie was caught off guard by that. He loved this bear with every inch of his being, and of course he knew Freddy loved him back...but Bonnie never considered exactly how much he meant to the bear. His mind went to Vanny...to what he was being forced to do. But someone cared for him. He meant...something. He was more than some lackey to their horrid inventor.
Bonnie did not realize how emotional he was getting until Freddy sat up, his eyes wide in worry. "Bonbon, are you ok?? Did I hurt you?!" The bear fretted. He placed both of his hands on Bonnie's cheeks, trying to wipe off as much oil leaking from his eyes as he could. Bonnie let out a broken sob before lunging forward and trapping the bear in a tight hug. Freddy was taken aback but quickly hugged back just as tight. His worry for the bunny only grew.
"Bonnie, I am so sorry! Please tell me, did I say something? Did I hurt you??" He asked again. Bonnie nuzzled into his chest.
"Y-you're happy...h-h-honey bear-?" He cried.
"Wh- of course I am happy! You make me the happiest I've ever been-" Freddy reasoned.
Good. His sacrifices were worth it. Freddy and his friends could be happy.
"G-g-good..." He choked out.

Bonnie had blacked out shortly after and gone into rest mode. His systems overheated and he manually shut off. Freddy was quietly carrying him bridal-style to his greenroom. He could not shake off the worry he felt for his precious Bonnie. He still had no idea what caused that random episode from the bunny but he felt terrible nonetheless. He had to be responsible for it. At least, that's what Freddy thought. When he finally made it into his greenroom he gently placed the bunny to comfortably lean in his charging station. Before closing it however he stopped to really look at Bonnie. He looked adorable resting so peacfully. All of his soft features were just gorgeous to the bear. And his ears, of course. His ears always got in the way. Right now his ears were limply drooping over and obscuring his face. Freddy gently nudged his ears away and placed delicate kisses on his forehead.
"Please take care of yourself, silly bunny...do not scare me like that again." He whispered so as to not wake the exhausted animatronic. He made sure his head was comfortable against the station before he got up.
"Goodnight, my little starshine..." He muttered, gazing fondly at the bunny before quietly shutting the door.
Freddy thought back to the new animatronic. Maybe Bonnie was right, it was just a bad first impression. Freddy would make up for it then. By being the best boss Montgomery could ask for.
