Sakura's Journey to Peace

Chapter 3

After Sakura said her goodbyes, she took Sasuke to the Hospital. Sasuke woke up a couple hours later, greeted by the sight of a pink haired academy student, clothed in blue with orange goggles on her forehead. His mind clicked in realisation. 'Sakura!' He thought. He shook her awake. "Sakura-chan." He muttered, trying to wake her up. She shifted before looking up. "Sasuke, are you okay?" She fretts, looking over him.

He shook his head. "Where's- where's mom and dad?" He asked. Sakura looked down in pity. Sasuke's eyes widen in realisation as the events come back to him, making his eyes water. "No- no no NO NO NO!" He said, gripping his hair, "They- THEY CANT BE DEAD!" He shouted, clutching his chest as his breathing starts to get heavier. Sakura places a hand on his shoulder, but he slaps it away.

"Sasuke!" She said, firmly. He froze, looking up at her with tearful, heartbroken eyes. She sits on the bed and opens her arms. He doesn't hesitate, he lunges and buries himself in her arms and sobs into her chest, letting out the anguish he faced a couple hours before. "Let it out, don't worry I'm here." Sakura soothed, stroking the back of his head, whispering sweet things in his ear, hoping to calm him down.

After about an hour, his crying resulted into soft sniffles. "I won't ask if your okay, because that's a stupid question." Sakura started, making Sasuke lift his head from his chest and rest his chin on her chest, looking up at her, making her heart melt. "But I am going to ask, will you let me be there for you? To make you feel okay again, so I can ask you later. 'Are you okay?'" She smiled. He hesitates before slowly nodding, needing the comfort of a person.

"You won't go to the academy tomorrow, I'll let you grieve and Ill take the consequences of you skipping." Sakura said, smiling down at Sasuke. He gives her a grateful look. "Thank you, Sakura." He mumbled. She patted his head. "Now, get some rest, Ill be here when you wake up." Sakura said, gesturing for him to lay down. He looks down slightly. "C-can you hold me? Just for today..." He whispered, feeling vulnerable.

Sakura smiled. "Of course." She accepted, sliding into the bed, Sasuke curling up next to her, hugging her arm. "I'll be here when you wake up. Sleep now." She patted his head, he nods, his breaths starting to even out before he falls asleep. Sakura frowns. 'I can't believe he had to go through this as a kid. I'll be there for him this time.' She thought, determination courses through her veins.

A tap on the window snaps her out of her thoughts. She looks over, seeing a fox with a scroll in its mouth. It somehow opens the window and jumps on the bed. The fox drops the scroll on her chest and curls up on her thighs, looking at her curiously. She opens the scroll with her one available arm.

Pink haired Brat

It's Kurama, the Uchiha should be arriving at Uzushiogakure soon, the building has been complete apart from the couple buildings. I've welcomed some other citizens in and shinobi to get the village going with merchants and shinobi forces.

Look after the Naruto brat too. Ill be back in about a week. So I can settle in the Uchiha. I heard your making Fugaku the leader. Good choice.

P.S Tell Obito he's stupid.

Sakura silently laughed at the last sentence as Obito shouted out curses in her mind. Her heart fills with warmth, knowing the Uchiha will be safe. Sasuke will have a family to go to when this is all resolved. But now she has to take care of Naruto too, her boys need to be safe.

She's sad she couldn't save Hinata from being kidnapped, but that was out of her hands due to it already happened. But she hopes she can be there for her too. 'God I'm adopting half of the clan kids.' Sakura grumbled. Obito laughed.
