Sakura's Journey to Peace

Chapter 5

Sakura wakes up in her bed, she looks at the time, seeing its about 8am. She groans, knowing she's late. She grabs her Genin outfit, she heads to her bathroom, taking a quick shower, brushing her teeth, doing her hair before putting on her clothes. She sighs and grabs an apple before leaving the house, locking the door behind her. She walks through the streets of Konoha, destination set on the training grounds.

"Sakura!" A elderly voice called out. Sakura turned to the voice and saw an elderly lady she helps a lot, struggling with her groceries. "Obaa-San! Are you okay? Here, let me help." Sakura said, grabbing the bags for her. "Oh, your too kind dear, follow me." Obaa-san said, going to her house. Sakura follows behind and engages in a conversation with her.

"Today I'm doing a survival exercise with my team to prove we can become Shinobi!" Sakura said, with a grin on her face. Obaa-san gives her a warm smile. "That's nice dear, I know you will do great." Obaa-san said, patting her head. Sakura's stomach rumbles making her gain an embarrassed blush.

"Have you not eaten today?" Obaa-san asked, concerned. "Oh, uh Kakashi told us not to eat." Sakura said, scratching the back of her neck. "Oh what rubbish, come I'll make some breakfast." Obaa-san said, muttering about old fools starving children, making Sakura sweatdrop.

Obaa-san made Sakura some breakfast which she hesitantly ate, she wished Obaa-san a goodbye with a hug before leaving. "Bye Obaa-san." Sakura said, running down the street, looking back and waving at the old woman. The old woman chuckles and waves back.

Sakura checks the time in a nearby store. "AHH IM MORE LATE THAN BEFORE!" Sakura said, dashing out of the shop, she runs and runs until she makes it to the training grounds, Kakashi already there. "YOU'RE LATE JUST LIKE KAKASHI-SENSEI!" Naruto shouts, pointing at Sakura.

Sakura sheepishly grins. "Sorry I had to help an old lady with her groceries." Sakura said. "LIAR!" Naruto shouts. Sakura punches his head. "SHUT UP BAKA!" She said, holding him a choke hold, rubbing her knuckles against his head. "AHH ITAI LET GO SAKURA-CHAN!" Naruto said, thrashing around. Sakura let go and Naruto pants.

"Okay..? Let's get started." Kakashi said, looking a bit shaken up. He grabs a clock out of nowhere and puts it on a stump of wood. He grabs two bells from his weapons pouch. "Here are two bells, your goal is to take these two bells from me by noon. Those who don't have a bell by noon, gets no lunch, and will be sent back to the academy." Kakashi said, shocking them. Well, not really Sakura as she had already done this.

Kakashi says how he recommends using Weapons and Naruto snarks back that he can't dodge because he can't dodge the eraser. "In the real world, those with no talent bark the loudest. Well.. ignore mr dead last and start when I say." Kakashi said, angering Naruto. Naruto grabs a Kunai and charges at Kakashi. But kakashi twists Naruto's arm and makes the Kunai aim for his head, Sakura and Sasuke jump back at the speed.

"Calm down. I haven't said start yet." Kakashi said, letting go of Naruto. "But you came at me with the intent to kill.. I guess I'm really starting to like you guys... BEGIN!" Kakashi said, making them all jump away. Sakura lands in a tree. 'Naruto will probably charge in blind.. Sasuke is probably in the bushes somewhere next to me..' Sakura's thoughts were cut off by Naruto shouting at Sasuke for going to far. 'Dang it, I got distracted.' Sakura thought.

She waits till the coast is clear before running to Naruto, she throws a kunai at the rope holding Naruto, making him drop. "Itai! What was that for Sakura-chan." Naruto complained, Sakura deadpanned. "At least I got you out of the rope. Wanna team up and get the bells with Sasuke?" Sakura asked, Naruto shook his head. "No I won't work with that bastard teme, and I want to prove I can become Hokage by myself!" Naruto said, running off making Sakura sigh.
