Lola's POV

"Well, well, well. Look what we have here." Jake says smirking. I don't think this is right timing.

"Jake, not now. I'm not in the mood for your games."Steeve says calmly and I raise my eyebrow. Well, if Steeve can be bad, I can be bad too.

"Unless you're asking for another black eye; I'm sure there wouldn't be a problem in granting your death wish." It's Steeve turn to raise his eyebrow at me. Jake is taken back by our braveness.

"Who the hell are you and what have you done with my favourite nerds?"

"Yeah!" Robin says.

"I wanna know too!" Mathew says. I laugh.

"Are you two his echo or something? 'Cause your good at it."

They both glare at me and starts to walk towards me. Steeve uses both his hands and pushes them away.

"Hey back off!" Steeve says and I grin. They start to charge at Steeve but Jake stops them.

"Wait,"

"By the way, your 'favourite nerds' are out of stock. Go find some other toys your size to play with." Steeve says to Jake and turns to me.

"Come on," he holds my hand and we walk away. Surprisingly Jake and his puppies don't follow.

"We will get you Roman!" Jake shouts.

"No you won't!" Steeve shouts back.

"You've changed over night?" He laughs.

"Or nah," (no pun intended)

"I swear you use to be timid when it comes to Jake and his assholes.

"Well I'm tired of his shit. People must be treated better. I know if someone treated him like a punching bag, he would be angry and annoyed." I say.

"You're a badass." He smirks at me.

"No I'm not." We enter the cafeteria.

"Who the hell are they?" People are muttering and I roll my eyes at the fact that we've been here for years and they have no clue who we are.

A slutty girl stands up with a smirk on her face. She's barely wearing any clothes. She stops in front of Steeve.

"Hi. Um, you wanna go out some time?" she asks biting her lip and biting her eyes.

"Naa, I'm good." He says looking away and she brings his face back forward with her hand.

"You know, anything she's doing for you," she gestures to me, "I can do much more." She says biting her lip and my eyes widen.

"Excuse me you who-"Steeve cuts me off by dragging me away until we exit the cafeteria. Steeve starts to laugh and I huff.

"Right now, I'm sure you're not the Lola I use to know. Your courage is impeccable."

"Yeah right," I fold my arms and start walking.

He runs up to me and nudges me with his shoulder.

"What?"

"Nothing," he smiles cheekily.

"Seriously?" He shrugs. I shake my head and look forward.

I open the double doors and step out, Steeve following behind me.

He comes beside me and nudges me again. I roll my eyes.

"What now?" He turns away, acting like he didn't do anything. I nudge him back and he grins at me.

He nudges me and I nudge him back. He nudges me and I nudge him back. This goes on until I push him, almost making him fall. His mouth drops open in shock.

"Oh you're gonna get it!" He charges at me but I slip away and start to run, laughing loudly.

Our favourite tree comes into sight and before I know it, I'm tackled to the ground. He starts tickling me and I gasp for air, my laugh taking its place.

"C'mon!"

"C'mon what? You asked for it!" he says chuckling but doesn't stop.

"P-Please!" I say trying to get away from him but his fingers dig into my waist making me laugh harder.

"Please what?" He laughs.

"Pl-Pl-stop!" I can't even get my words straight out of my mouth.

"Stop what? You asked for it!"

"No I didn't!" I turn my body trying to crawl away but he holds on to my hips tickling me. I hold on to the grass tightly.

"Okay, okay, guess what."

"W-What?" I say gasping for air.

"Tell me you love me."

"No way!"

"Okay," he starts tickling me again.

"Okay, okay! I love you!" He stops, grinning.

Steeve's POV

"I know," I say cheekily and sit down on the grass propping myself up with my hands.

"Whatever," She says and lay back flat on the grass, the tree giving shade from the sun for both of us.

We lay here silent for a while.

"Have you ever wondered why life can be so confusing?" She says breaking the silence and I frown at her thought.

"I mean, one minute you hate your life and the next minute you wish you could live forever." I smile softly realizing that she's right.

"You know what, let's spend the evening after school." I say looking up at the sky.

"What?" she asks confused.

"I mean, we deserve some fun time. It could even be a celebration for going through the day so for without being teased or beat up on." I smile at her.

"Okay," she grins and closes her eyes.

I start to observe her in the position she's in. Eyes closed, head leaned to the side. Her hair is flowing around her head like a goddess. Her black hair complements her smooth skin in a way unimaginable.

The way how her long eyelashes flutter off her eyelids bring off a huge effect. Her small straight nose going down to her plump pale pink lips... They must feel so soft.

I feel the urge to kiss her

Then her neck...I don't know what could be significant about someone's neck but it's tempting. It's so kissable and I can feel my mouth watering.

Her skin is so flawless, being perfect for her.

And then to top it off, the rays of sunlight that are escaping the spaces between the leave of the tree are glistening on her.

I gulp, feeling breathless, amazed at the beautiful sight. I should not be doing this.

"What's wrong?" My eyes widen at the sound of her soft voice.

"Um...nothing," I say and lay back on the grass looking at the sky again.

I slowly turn my head and look at her, and at this level, I'm only seeing her hair and about a quarter of her face. But she still looks captivating.

I turn away, experiencing mixed feelings.

I should not be observing her like this. She's my best friend for Christ's sake. And I like Kareena...right?

I look back at her, not being able to turn away again.

What the hell is happening to me?
