As Zeldris flies with you in his arms you can't help but think to yourself that this choice would somehow end up hurting you. You look down and see that you are flying above Lioness, far enough away that no one would notice you but close enough to recognize the houses. " Wait Zeldris stop!" you cry, and he stops flying and hovers in the air. " What's wrong? are you alright?!" he asks concerned " Nothing's wrong I just need you to help me with something before you take me to your demony castle place." you say in the most reassuring tone you could manage. " Do you see that house over there? The one with the red-purple roof? I need you to put me down in front of it and then go wait in the forest for an hour then come and get me." You looked at him and you immediately understood what he was saying even without his words. " Don't worry no one there will hurt me. I just need you to trust me. Ok?"
All he does is nod and then fly's down to the ground gently placing you on to your feet. " I'll be back in 1 hour exactly. Please be careful. It's not you that I don't trust its everyone else." And then he was gone so fast it almost felt as though this all had just been a figment of your overactive imagination a dream. But as soon as Howzer opened his front door and hugged to tight around the waist picking you up and kissing you all over you remembered that it wasn't.
" Wait Howzer stop." you as you wiggle out of his arms " What is it what's wrong?" he says and puts you down " Howzer we need to talk is your father home?" " No, he's not he's at the market and won't be back for hours." You walked past him and opened his front door allowing him to go in first, closing the door behind you. He walks down the hall and sits down at the kitchen table, and you just stand at the door for a bit looking around his home. You have been here countless time before but right now it all feels distant, like you haven't seen those familiar baby blue walls in years. You slowly start walking towards the kitchen, looking over to the wall on your right. Tears cloud your eyes as you see picture after picture of your life. Pictures full of you and Howzer smiling and laughing, dancing and playing. Pictures of holidays and of playdates. You look away unable to take any more of the happy memories turning sad.
You pull out a chair and sit down across from Howzer. " Howzer, I love you more than anything...but I..." You fumble with your words in your mind trying to find the right ones. Your head starts to droop, and you put your face in your hands trying to hide the tear on your cheeks. Howzer takes your hands in his and you look at him, his eyes are kind and full of love. " Whatever is happening I'm here you tell me. " His words are so gentle you almost don't want to say anything. You turn your left wrist up and rub it. You look at it blankly and Howzer looks at it confused. " What's that? " He asks clearly not understanding " This is why I disappeared. This is a mate mark. This is the reason that I'm breaking up with you. " You look at him and see a single tear fall from this right eye. " I don't understand what's a mate mark and why does it mean that you have to break up with me?!" " I just want you to know this, but I was really happy with you these last 18 years and if I had a choice in this, I would not have chosen for it to have happened." Howzer stood up from the table knocking the chair to the ground " Chosen what?! What's going on? " " Howzer please calm down. Sit down and I'll explain everything to you. pleases sit." " NO i will NOT sit down until you tell me what's going on and why you're breaking up with me!!"
" Thats enough!" says a ruff voice full of anger and you see Zeldris holding a sword towards Howzer hiding you behind him and holding his left arm out keeping you safe. " What are you doing here I told you an hour it's only been about 20 minutes." you whisper into his ear. He turns his gaze to you and the anger fades away " I'm sorry but I had a bad feeling and came back anyways." he turns his head back to Howzer the anger returning to his eyes. " And it looks like i got here just in time!"
" What The Hell Who Are You!?" Howzer half yells. " I'm Amity's mate who the hell are you!?" Zeldris yells back. " MATE!? IM HER BOYFRIEND! " Zeldris turns around and looks you in the eyes and you can see the pain as his heart breaks " Boyfriend?" he says in a weak voice hoping that you tell him that he's wrong and that it's not true. " I'm sorry..." He looks down hiding his tears from you. " And I'm sorry Howzer I do love you but- " " No I'm sorry! I'm sorry that I was going to propose to you! " He pulls out a diamond ring from his pocket and throws it at you. You look down 'it's beautiful' you think to yourself. You start to imagine what your life with Howzer would have been like.
" We are leaving. " Zeldris tells you Bringing you back to reality " Wait what?" and he grabs your waist and flies through the ceiling. You struggle a little and hit his arms and kick your legs trying to get his to drop. You but give up with a huff of frustration because of how strong he is. You look down as Howzer watches you fly away.
