Ava and Sara were at a party for their anniversary. Ava went to get drinks while sara stayed talking with the rest of the group.

Ava's pov:
As I sit at the bar waiting for everyone's drinks, a tall, brunette haired girl walks up to me. I give a slight, friendly smile before turning towards the bar.

" bad day?" She asks, Her voice raspy. " me?, oh, no, I'm here celebrating me and my wife's anniversary." I babble. " wife?, well I must say, she's a pretty lucky girl" she smirks. I smile.

The bartender places the drinks in front of me. " thanks" I say as I begin to grab them. The un named woman moves closer to me. I slowly take a step backwards and I laugh nervously. "Need help?"

Before I can reply, the short blue eyed blonde grabs a few of the drinks from me. " she's fine" she smiles. " so you must be 'the wife'" the woman asks.

" yes, what is it to you?" She asks. " sara.." I say as I hit her arm. " just curious, enjoy the rest of your night" the tall woman says as she disappears into the large crowd.

" why'd you hit me" she asks. " because you were being mean" I answer. Sara rolls her eyes and connects her hand with mine, as we walk to meet back up with everyone else.

- after the party-

We say goodbye to everyone and we put the gifts into the car. " are you driving?" I ask sara. She shrugs. I roll my eyes as I throw the keys to her. " it was a yes or no question you know" We get into the car and she starts it.

We head home.

" are you gonna open the gifts with me?" She nods as we pull into the driveway of our house.

We get out of the car and we take everything inside.

We walk into the living room and sit the gifts onto the table. " mama, mommy, I missed you so much" the blonde, blue eyed toddler runs up to us and wraps her arms tightly around our legs. " hi honey, why aren't you in bed, it's midnight" I say as I kiss her forehead.

" uncle Nate said that we could stay up and build the biggest fort in the world" she says as her small smile widened.

Sara picks her up from the floor. " how about we go get you in your pjs, huh?" Sara smiles. " the princess ones?" " mhm" " yay!" Sara walks upstairs with Laurel.

"Nate" I call out. " avaaaaa, heyyy" he says as he walks from where he was previously. " biggest fort in the world? Really?" I cross my arms. " she wouldn't go to bed without you guys" he explains.

" anyways, thanks for babysitting her" " no problem, did you have fun at the party?" " it was okay" I smile. " okay, I'll see you guys tomorrow" Nate says as he leaves. " drive safe!" I say as he shuts the door.

'Why is it so hot in here?' I think to myself. I walk into the bedroom and I remove my shirt before I sit on the bed. As I reach for the remote, my phone rings.

I grab my phone and I answer it. " Zari?" I speak. " have you guys opened your gifts yet?" She asks. " no" " where is shirt?, are you and Sara about to-" " Z, no! Sara's putting Laurel to bed right now" " oh, well good, because you should open my gift first" " okay" I laugh.

Sara walks into the room and cradles my lap. " who's that?" She asks. " it's Zari" " oh, what does she want?" " You could just ask me, I'm still on the phone you know" Zari answers. Sara laughs.

" is laurel asleep?" I ask. " yup" Sara's eyes lower to my lips and the back to my eyes. she moves to kiss me longingly. " if you two are gonna have sex, please hang up" Sara smiles into the kiss. " unless that's what you're into, I would hang up if I were you" she says. " I- bye!" She hangs up.
