Her Grimoire

A fifteen-year-old girl sat on the huge skull by Hage Village playing a flute, long sleeves and hair flowing in the wind. She had baggy pants on and fingerless gloves along with black work boots.

"Raven!! Raven, Raven, Raaaaaveeeen!!!" Asta called.

"Oh. Asta," the black-haired girl turns. "Ready to train now?"

"Train? Today's the day you get your grimoire!"

"Oh shoot! That's today?!" She whipped around to face her friend.

"YOU FORGOT?! WE'RE SUPPOSED TO LEAVE AT NOON!!"

"IT'S ALMOST NOON!!! LET'S GO!!!" She starts dashing down the skull.

"WAIT FOR ME!!" Asta struggled to catch up.

"WHERE HAVE YOU TWO BEEN?! IT'S ALMOST TIME TO GO!!" Father Orsi yelled at the two.

"Well, I-uhh..haha... may have forgotten?" She sheepishly scratches the back of her head.

"YOU FORGOT THAT TODAY WAS THE DAY YOU GET YOUR GRIMOIRE?!" He sighs disappointedly. "I'm not even surprised... you always forget stuff like this..."

"Shut up," she pouts. "Now let's go!!!"

"Yeah!!!" Asta yells, matching her energy.

"You two are too loud," Yuno says apathetically.

"And you're too broody. Lighten up," the black-haired girl playfully punches his shoulder.

"Tsk," He turns away with a light blush.

Time skip to grimoire cerimony

"And now for the grimoire acceptance ceremony!" The grimoire master yelled. Grimoires instantly reacted to his command, flying to their owners. After that happened, Raven's grimoire began materializing in her hands (hovering above like the other grimoires when they're initially received).

"Woah! Look at her!" All attention suddenly turned to her. "Her grimoire is forming in her hands!"

As the entire crowd watched in amazement, a thick, black grimoire adorned with a phoenix symbol in the center on one side and a demon symbol on the other with three-leafed clover symbols in the corners. As it landed in her hands, she looked at it with amazement.

"Wow..." she breather, studying it. Flipping it open, she saw several spells and some strange ones that seemed to be constantly shifting on the pages yet always making perfect sense.

"I'll become the first magic knight from this area!" She declared confidently.

Time skip

"Alright then, everyone!" Father Orsi calls out to his charges. "We're going home to prepare a feast! You each can have three tatoes tonight!"

"I can hunt for some meat, too. I'll probably be able to get enough for everyone at the church!" Raven smiles and they start the trek home.

"Really?! Maybe you can teach me how to hunt!" Nash looks at the girl with stars in his eyes.

"I don't think that'd be a great idea..." she sweat drops, remembering how her first attempt at teaching anyone how to hunt went. Let's just say that there's a reason Sister Lily and Father Orsi don't leave the kids unsupervised for extended periods of time...

"Awww... that was one time!" Nash looks downcast.

"Yeah. One time too many," she looks over to Asta, who's been surprisingly quiet. "Asta?" No answer. "Aaaastaaa," she waves her hand in front of his face. "ASTA!" She yells in his ear.

"AAH!" He jumps back, falling into Yuno, causing the eldest to giggle. "W-what?! Did something happen?!"

"No, you've just been really quiet since I've gotten my grimoire. What's on your mind, Shrimpy?"

"You remember when... that happened?" Asta looks up at the girl.

"Oh. You're afraid something like that's going to happen again once I leave to become a Magic Knight, aren't you?" She puts a hand on his head, giving him a blinding smile. "Don't worry. It won't ever happen again."

"Alright!" He suddenly cheers up. "Let's go! I'll work hard to catch up to you!"

"That's the spirit! Race you two back, Asta! Yuno!" She suddenly runs off.

"Hey! No fair! You got a head start!" Asta called out as he ran to catch up with the girl.

"Wait up, you two!!" Yuno calls as he chases after them, all three laughing.
