All Those Late Nights (Part Three)

Jes and Avery are becoming closer and closer the more they spend their nights together. Sino bang hindi magiging close kung parang parte na kayo ng gabi ng isa't isa? It's like they both can't go to bed nang hindi nagkaka-chat.

One thing that Jes really loves about their nights is the fact na kahit paulit-ulit lang silang nag-uusap gabi-gabi, every night is still different from each other.

There were nights when they content themselves with filling entries to a weird slambook, there were nights na napag-uusapan nila ang mga toxic nilang kamag-anak na minamaliit sila. Some nights, they just plan what they'll do together the next time they see each other.

But most nights, they just have random and weird conversations and those will always be Jes's favorites. Even if those nights get boring, he wouldn't trade it for any other nights they had.

"Jes, sino 'yung kasama mo kanina? Gwapo nu'n, a." Irritation immediately rose in Jes's chest upon hearing that voice.

He and Avery went separate ways for a while since they needed to fix some documents in their own departments before they could proceed with the enrollment.

Good thing he saw Mommy Jenny habang papunta sa Psychology department kaya may kasabay siya sa assessment. Everything's good and he actually enjoys catching up with Mommy Jenny about how they summer went.

Kaso nga dumating si Liana and all the good mood he has dissipated.

"May boyfriend ka, Jes?" Mommy Jenny asked.

"Hindi, Mommy..." Jes didn't know kung paano niya ituuloy ang sasabihin because he's sure Liana would like the next things he'll say and of course, he doesn't want that. "He's just a friend."

And he was right. Liana's eyes nearly turned into heart when she heard that.

"Pogi talaga. Pakilala mo naman ako, Jes. Sarap, e." Liana followed that with a laugh. Although she said it jokingly, Jes knows what she really is thinking right now.

Some people in their block call Liana 'palaka'. At first, Jes doesn't understand the nickname. Liana looks okay. She doesn't have that jaw-dropping beauty but she's not ugly as well.

Then one of their classmates finally explained.

'Palaka' is actually a shortened term for 'palakantot'. Jes was actually horrified when he found out the origin of Liana's nickname. Hindi naman yata niya deserve na matawag ng gano'n just because she likes sex.

But then naka-kwentuhan nila si Liana minsan and the fuck, she showed them her gallery na puro pictures ng mga lalaking nakakasama niyang uminom. The worst thing is all the guys were unconscious and absolutely drunk, and they were all buck-naked. There were even pictures where Liana is touching them down there. Tatawa-tawa pa si Liana when she shared it to them but Jes and his friends? They all wanted to throw up.

They were all stunned at pare-pareho silang hindi alam kung paano mag-re-react sa oras na 'yon. They don't even want to think what else happened na hindi nila nakita sa video.

That was also the last time they talked to Liana. Since then, they just talk to her if needed o kung para sa school matters lang.

Liana is one big 'palaka' after all.

"Add mo na lang sa FB. I think he'll accept you naman," Jes said and feigned nonchalance kahit sa totoo lang, inis na inis siya.

"What's his name sa FB, then?"

Jes was hesitant to say it but he doesn't want to sound like pinagdadamot niya si Avery. Hindi naman siya boyfriend.

"Avery Collarez." That's the first time he said Avery's name and tasted something bitter in his mouth.
