La niña del fuego was a name muttered throughout the village, she walked with her hood up, traveling towards the mountain.

When she made it to the very top, she saw her village hidden within the mountains, one in which nobody could bother her or her people.

In her culture, you needed to ask for permission to go within the mountains, only some have been able to enter within their sacred village.

"Mi Reina." One of the villagers says as he bows to the woman. Chantico smiles as he rises. "Hay un visitante, la montaña lo dejó entrar sin que él tuviera que preguntar." (There is a visitor, the mountain let him in without him even having to ask) He says, this caused the Queen to give a look.

"¿Dónde está ahora?" (Where is he now?) She questions, as she takes off her cape, handing it to her general. "Allí." (In there) The man says, motioning towards a hut. The woman nods, walking over to the hut, entering it.

The Queen was caught off guard as she sees a man...practically naked at that in the small hut. "¿Cómo llegaste hasta aquí?" (How did you get up here?) She questions, sitting in front of him, cross-legged.

"Tu montaña me dejó entrar." (Your mountain let me in) He says, a smirk on his face as he looked at the woman. She glares at him as her eyes alight.

"¿Te atreves a sonreírme como si no hubieras entrado en mi reino sin mi permiso?" (You dare smirk at me as if you haven't entered my kingdom without my permission?) She questions, standing up, her body full of anger.

"I expected more respect from you K'uk'ulkan." She says as she walks out of the hut. "Wait!" The god shouts, the woman turning over her should with a smirk. "¿Ahora estás dispuesto a jugar bien?" (Now are you willing to play nice?) She questions, the god nodding defeatedly.

That was almost two hundred years ago, Chantico's world had modernized, and she didn't mind. Of course, they were still hidden...but now they had an alliance.

Wakanda sent shipments of vibranium, and in exchange Wakanda gained protection from her, from her people.

Today was the day her tribe went to visit Wakanda again...it's been about one year since King T'Challa's passing and Chantico hasn't gone to provide her condolences quite yet.

Oce her people had made it to Wakanda, they were greeted by Queen Ramonda and Princess Shuri. "Your highness." Chantico says, granted she was a goddess, but she still had a deep respect for this woman.

"Chantico, I assume all is well." Queen Ramonda says as she smiles at the woman. "Yes." Chantico says as she looks over at Shuri.

"Could I speak with the Princess, while my army discusses what needs to be done with yours? If that is okay with you of course." The goddess says as she turns to the princess. "Of course." Queen Ramonda says as she and the armies walk away.

"Come." Chantico says as she and the princess walk down the streets of the city.

"It's been a year; I can't believe that he's really gone." Shuri says as they sit on a bench in the square. "No hables así, él vivirá para siempre como la Pantera Negra en nuestros corazones." (Don't talk like that, he will forever live on as the Black Panther in our hearts.) She says as she points to the younger girl's chest.

"I know." Shuri says, looking down at the concrete. "I lost someone once." The woman says this caused Shuri to look up. "I lost the love of my life, and he went willingly. The thought of ruling over an entire population got the best of him. I rose his people from their fates...and he leaves." Chantico says, staring out into the crowds of people.

"The pain won't ever go away, but eventually it becomes much more bearable than it was before." Chantico says, standing up and holding out her hand. "Don't bury yourself in your lab, for me and your mother." The woman says, pulling the other up.

Her tribe was taken to their designated areas, but Chantico wanted to go out tonight. Sitting by the ocean made her feel close to home, she won't admit it but that feeling of home was him.

She sighed as she shut her eyes, she could never go near the ocean...it would put her flame out. Not only was she the keeper of the fire, but she was practically made of it.

The day he left had been permanently burned into her mind, not once was she not thinking about it.

It was morning, not only was K'uk'ulkan gone...but so were his people. "¿Dónde están?" (Where are they?) She questions, looking around frantically.

"La playa." (The beach) Atl, her general says as she points in the direction of where they were last seen, this made Chantico panic.

"K'uk'ulkan!" She shouts as she watches the people dive into the ocean, they were gone...but not him. "¿Por qué dejas mi amor?" (Why do you leave my love?) She questions, the goddess becoming more frazzled as time goes on.

"Mi gente me necesita." (My people need me) He says, this causes tears to well up in her eyes as he dives into the ocean. "Te necesito." (I need you.) She says as she falls to the sand, knowing she could not follow him where he was going.

Chantico stood from the sand, dusting it off her garbs. She walked back to the palace and sat in her room, all she wanted was some time for herself.

That night, Shuri and Queen Ramonda had met K'uk'ulkan...and he was looking for Chantico.

"Chantico!" Shuri exclaims as she begins knocking at the woman's door. "Chantico!" Shuri shouts again, just as the door opens. "Shuri?" She questions, just as Shuri walked into her room.

"A man...he was looking for you." Shuri says, this caused Chantico to look confused. "One of my people, I'll just go talk to him don't worry." Chantico says as she stands to move, but Shuri grabbed her shoulder.

"No, he wasn't part of your people...he came from the ocean." Shuri says, this caused the other woman to stare ahead. "I know who it is." She says as she looks back at Shuri.

"You do?" Shuri questions. "Yes...promise me you won't allow me to go back with him." Chantico says as she looks at the younger woman. "I promise." Shuri says as she hugs her. The women hug, Chantico's heart rate was quickening.

"Si ese hijo de puta de baja calidad piensa que puede volver a mi vida después de abandonarme durante doscientos años, está muy equivocado!" (If that low-life son of a bitch thinks he can just come back into my life after abandoning me for two hundred years he is very wrong!) Chantico shouts as she paces her bedroom back and forth.

Atl watches as she grumbles, the general found amusement, this was when Xochitl walked in. "¿Qué pasó?" (What happened?) Xochitl questions as she walks into the room. "Le dijeron que su querido la está buscando, no está muy contenta con eso." (She was told her dearly beloved is looking for her, she's not too happy about that.) Atl says.

"He is not my dearly beloved!" Chantico says as she looks towards the girl and the woman. "Yes...I loved him...but he left me." The goddess says as she looks towards the window, out where the ocean was.

"Mira, ella lo está añorando. Ella está mirando el océano fingiendo que no lo extraña." (Look, she's pining for him. She's looking at the ocean pretending she doesn't miss him.) Xochitl says, this caused the oldest woman to exclaim in frustration.
