(Y/N) teleported everyone out of the trap and into the corridor leading to the road from whence they all came. All the ninjas except her and the unconscious Kai felt dizzy and like they were gathering vomit.
- You could have warned us... I'm going to throw up. - groaned Jay and covered his mouth with his hand, whooping.
- You'll get used to it and now let's get out of here. - ordered the girl and everyone started running quickly to the exit to stop the fleeing Aspheera.
The team was still handcuffed together which made it difficult for them to run and organize, but also the weight of Kai, who was unconscious and being dragged along the ground. Kai took all the blows encountered on the road, but slept like a boulder.
The ninjas were suddenly thrown off balance and fell to the ground as the entire pyramid began to shake violently, causing several columns to crumble, which fell and shattered a few inches away from the ninjas.
Moreover, the sound of hissing and roars similar to screams of agony could be heard in the distant corridors.
- What was that? - asked a frightened Cole, looking into one of the dark corridors.
- I don't know, but it's certainly nothing good. - replied an equally worried Lloyd.
Behind him, Saber felt an unexpected wave of heat. His ears fluttered and he quickly looked behind him and saw pouring out of holes from the walls....
- LAVA!!!
The ninjas turned their heads and screamed in fear as a river of lava began to flow toward them. They jumped up and ran straight for the exit in a cartoon-like fashion, tripping and falling over each other.
- Wait for me!!! - cried Saber behind them, who at the sight of the lava froze with fear.
The heroes fled from the hot river until at the exit they quickly turned sharply to the right and a second later hot lava erupted with tremendous pressure from the center of the pyramid. The lava safely passed the ninja and flowed down the pyramid.
The ninjas sighed with immense relief.
- We made it! We escaped! - exclaimed Jay joyfully.
They all looked ahead and gasped in shock when they discovered that they had nowhere to run. The entire desert around the pyramid was flooded with a sea of lava. Zane looked ahead and with his excellent eyesight saw a cluster of huge fire snakes with smaller Serpentine on their backs.
- Oh no. - he muttered to himself as the fire vipers one by one roared penetratingly before leaping into the air and disappearing a moment later in a huge black smoke.
- What do we do now? - Nya asked in a trembling voice as she looked around the horizon.
- I... It's over. -groaned (Y/N) and with a heavy sigh sat on the ground, looking helplessly ahead.
