A few days later it's Lee's funeral,

The funeral goes off without a hitch, you sing the song to end the ceremony, John comes up behind you when you finish and hugs you and thanks you for doing that, you smile at him "Lee was my best friend John, I loved him and he wanted me to sing this song if I was alive when he went up to heaven, I'm just following his wishes" as John smiles And kisses your forehead "I know it's hard on you darling" as you smile at him and Kayce comes over with tate "dad and Nicole darling we are going out to eat" as you smile at Kayce who holds his hand out for you and you take it and John goes to find Beth, Rip Carter and Jamie leaving you three alone, Tate smiles and hugs you "I'm sorry your sad Nicole uncle Lee was a great guy and you two are where close" as Kayce smiles and you three head out and meet up with everyone else and goes to lunch.

Tate doesn't leave your side, he holds your hand the whole time during lunch. Kayce smiles at his son with you and can't help but think about your guys future together, fast forward a couple months later you And Kayce got back together about a month after Lee's funeral, you and your dad are in the barn, your giving the animals their next set of shots, Kayce got full custody of Tate, Monica only gets him two weeks out of the summer, one weekend out of the month, and thanksgiving day, Kayce has him all the other times, Tate moved in the main house with Kayce, and John, John told Kayce when you two get married, you two will get Kayce's grandparents house on the land, Beth, Carter and Rip got the cabin that was the first house for John and Evelyn before John builded this one, you got to go into town and take some classes to update your license for your job. You continue to work at the ranch, you and Kayce continued to build your relationship you are amazing with Tate. and Kayce loves you and you two are going to spend this weekend together, Tate is going to Monica's it's the first weekend since the new agreement was made between them.

Next week you start your 2 weeks of classes at the college center to update your license, you come back to the ranch and go into your office, which you turn into you a room to stay in instead of the bunkhouse with all the rangers, you only go down there to eat And shower, you got everything setup in the back room of your office. Your dad comes to see you when he saw your truck pull in, you do the paperwork for John, he wanted you to update, you And dad have some words, that doesn't end well, he says sold bad things, And you slap him And he leaves, Kayce comes down from the main house to see if you want to grab some dinner in town, when he sees your dad leave in a hurry, and he comes in your office and sees you. "Darling you want to go into town And get some dinner tonight? He stops mid sentence when he sees you are crying "Nicole darling are you alright what happen? As he comes over to your side and makes you look him in the eyes, you let him know what your dad said to you and he stands up quick "I'll be back" as you reach for his hand "Kayce John Dutton, it's alright, my dad is a dick" as he shakes his head "yeah but what he said to you isn't right, and I'm going to put him in his place, then we can go get something to eat Monica is picking Tate up in about 30 minutes and dad said he is alright with him until Monica comes and picks him" as you nod your head And he walks out of your off and goes to find your dad.

Your dad is with John, Rip and some of the rangers in the yard, Kayce walks up to your dad and before your dad can say hi to him Kayce has him up by the shirt, "Lloyd man what you said you Nicole wasn't nice, she is your daughter, don't make me have to beat your ass, but stay away from her for a while" as Rip try to get Kayce off Lloyd, and John says Rip don't, as Rip stops and Kayce let's go of your dad then goes back to your office, John looks at Lloyd in shock, then he heads inside the main house, Kayce and you head out and into town to get dinner,

You two head to Kayce's truck and head out, and to town for dinner. He is taking you to the BBQ restaurant. You thank him for putting your dad in his place, you two get to the BBQ restaurant and go in, get seated and look over the menu's and decided on what to get, the waitress comes around and gets your guys orders, so when we get back, Tate will be gone with Monica, you want to go camping this weekend right, up in the mountains? As you nod your head at him "yeah if that's alright with you" as he nods his head and smiles "we are going, when we get back we will pack everything we need and head out later this evening" as you smile at him. A few minutes later the waitress comes out with your guys food, you thank her then Kayce says Grace and you two dig in, you two eat and talk about thighs, he says "if your dad starts again I'll kick his ass" as you laugh, after you two finish eating he goes and pays the you two head back to the ranch, so you two can get packed up and go camping for the weekend. When you two pull up, John is on the porch with Tate, you look at Kayce "Monica should have came and got him about 20 minutes ago, you need see what happen, I'll be in my office" as he nods his head and kisses your lips lightly. You get out of the truck and wave at Tate and John then head towards your office, Kayce gets out and goes to his dad and John let's him know the situation, Kayce is pissed off, he calls Jamie and gets a meeting setup for Monday morning with their lawyer, he hugs Tate and them both come to your office, Tate lays down on the couch as Kayce explains everything to you and you nod your head, then you look at Tate and get an idea for tomorrow.
