Garu laid in his makeshift bed, curled up into a ball. How could he have let this happen... how could he have let Pucca get hurt!? How DARE he ever let his guard down!
He was no ninja, he was a failure, if his ancestors could see him now, they'd surely be disappointed.
The thoughts wrapped around Garu's mind like a lingering parasite, and he squeezed his pillow tightly, trying to make them go away, though his attempts just ended up causing him a burning migraine.
His cat, Mio, looked curiously at Garu and mewed softly, walking on over to her, licking his face to try and cheer him up.
Garu looked over to the cat, and grabbed him, hugging him for comfort. For such an intelligent cat, Mio could easily understand Garu's feelings, and wished deeply that he could help him with such, but nothing could be done until he knew Pucca was okay.
A knock came to from the entrance. Garu didn't budge, or even react at all. Mio perked his head up and one of his ears twitched. He leaped away from Garu and started to scratch on the door.
The doors eventually opened, to a very worried Ching, with a bowl of noodles in her hands. She looked down, instantly seeing Mio.
"Oh, Mio!.. is Garu home?" Ching asked softly, crouching down to pet Mio, much to Won's annoyance.
Mio purred for a bit from the pats, then pointed to the depressed dump of darkness in the makeshift bed, known as his owner.
Ching sighed in empathy. "Thanks, Mio.." She muttered gratefully, then walking towards Garu.
"Hey Garu!... I... got some noodles for you, since you haven't been eating lately..."
"..."
"I-I know you're worried about Pucca, but don't worry! Mr. Bruce and Abyo are doing the best they can to find the culprit and bring them to justice!"
...
"WHAT DID YOU DO WITH PUCCA, PUNK!?" Abyo yelled, before jumping onto the table and after ripping his shirt off a mere moment prior. Bruce also stood up and slammed his hands on the table. "Confess, over!"
The poor suspect was Dada, who frankly, wasn't even aware of the incident. "Erm... p-permission to plead the fifth?" Dada softly replied.
"So, playing innocent, huh? Well, let's see you plead to this! HI-YA!" Abyo pulled his nunchucks out and started waving them around, before he accidentally let go of them, smacking his father on the face, knocking him down on the ground.
"Heh, sorry dad..." Abyo laughed sheepishly.
"Ow... over..." The oppressed Officer groaned.
Dada blinked in concern, staring at the both of them. "I don't know what is happening..."
...
"Trust me, they'll catch the villain before we even know it!" Ching, as bright (and blind) as ever, assured Garu. He didn't respond, but felt even more discouraged, reasonably so.
Ching's bright attitude faltered slightly. She set the noodles down next to Garu, and began to leave. "I'll... I'll be with Abyo and Mr. Bruce if you need anything... bye Garu." She mumbled.
Garu glanced back to her, wanting to say something, anything, but he stayed silent. He couldn't break his vow, not again...
He glanced down at the noodles and felt his heart pant with guilt. He could tell that Ching tried her best to make it just like how Pucca always did, but it just... wasn't the same.
Nothing was the same without Pucca...
...
"It's always best to revisit the crime scene to find the culprit!" Ching told the duo as they walked back to the, now under construction, Goh-Rong.
