Okay, pretty much anyone who's SEEN my account knows I have an addiction to Wings of Fire. Rightfully, because it is the best series in the entire world.

HOWEVER

I thought it would be fun to say what I don't like about Wings of fire. I absolutely LOVE wof and these things don't bother me too much, so please don't take this too seriously

Also, possible spoilers for the third arc (books 11-15)

Parts that I didn't like in the Wings of Fire books

1. Glory earning the Rainwing throne because she was related to Grandeur.  Don't get me wrong- I love Grandeur but I feel like it took away a bit from the victory. Glory basically already earned the crown, but she only became queen because she was the 'rightful heir' in a kingdom that doesn't 'do' heirs. Grandeur could have still forfeited from the competition because she thought Glory would make a good queen, I just don't think that the 'related family' part was necessary.

2. The age differences. Okay, this is a controversial one. I love Tui, but I feel like the age gaps in a LOT of the ships were confusing and a little unnecessary. It's different because they're dragons, but this sparked a lot of debates when she could have just written that they were the same age.

3. Boa getting rid of animus magic. Permanently.  I actually loved Boa's backstory and I felt bad for her, but getting rid of animus magic FOREVER seems to take away from the main themes of the second arc. I understand that animus magic would take away from the third arc plots, but it was surprising when I realized that Boa basically made it irreversible. After the WHOLE DARKSTALKER AND TURTLE AND ANEMONE themes about controlling power and using magic for good and that power does not make someone evil, the actions do; it was all kind of for nothing. Also maybe I'm biased because I thought animus magic was cool.
